i still remember the last day of school when i was in the 4th grade, and Quebec had that big forest fire. man the skies were DARK that morning, my mother and aunt thought something was going to happen, so me and my cousins were picked up and taken to her place to hunker down in the basement, fearing a tornado or something.
come to find out, it was just the smoke from a huge forest fire in Quebec, but holy cow did it ever freak us out.
Sigh i better step away from a perticular thread before i get into trouble not that i said anything wrong mind you but its getting outa control. Bangs head on desk wheres vrak when u need someone to lock a thread looks out for lightning and runs for cover.
Finally my power is back on. We had a major power grid failure here where I live today which affected most of British Columbia. Over 33,000 were without power for two hours or more.
I was at work when the power went out, So I had an interesting shift. Now that Iâm home and itâs back on, Going to login to WoW here soon. The cause of the massive power outage was a Transmission Circuit Failure.
Well if it makes u feel any better we had a atempted murder on my town a crow flew into something or another and cut off power to 1000 of people during the hottest week we had in decades.
Back to work today. Was a nice 3 day weekend. Back to the grind we go.
A murder requires more than one crow, I would think.
I get to go to jury duty starting today. Time for sitting and waiting.

Iâve done jury duty exactly once. The way my county did it was pull a pool of potential candidates for a week; you hang around for the first day, then call in every morning to see if youâre needed. I actually got to sit for a trial on the first day, and ended up being selected as an alternate, so I didnât even get to deliberate. Once your trial is completed, youâre done.
Hence the atempted murder.
This is the second time for me, it was 5 years ago when I last sat and waited. They just called about 40 in now, but not me yet. Time for a 15 minute break, then back to sitting.
10pm last night, I decide âIâm going to make some bratwurstâ and I toss them on my indoor smokeless electric grill dealio.
I donât know why I decided it was a good time to do that. I was tired, wanting to go to bed⌠But⌠now I had to finish.
On the plus side, I woke up and my house still smells like grilled sausage

My dadâs in town till Thursday. He got here a couple hours ago, way earlier than I expected. We had a quick lunch at Applebeeâs, then when he found out Iâve been up since yesterday afternoon, he insisted I go home and get some sleep while he went to try to check in to his hotel room two hours early. I suspect his afternoon will be spent investigating the wine selection at my local liquor store.
Tomorrow, weâll make the drive to my cheesemongerâs shop before dinner at our favorite German restaurant (I suspect this is really why he drives up here every year; the fact that itâs my birthday is merely coincidence). I still need to find something tourist-y to do Wednesday, that we havenât already done in years past.
The last time I was in that situation, I woke up 2 hours later to some extremely overcooked chicken cordon bleu.
