/nothing intelligent to say

A wise man once said gobledegook.

On this day in 1980, Mt Saint Helens blew its top.

I still have a bag of the ash from the eruption my dad gave me.

Others say nothing.
Sometimes I can’t help myself.

Silence maybe golden but then you woudnt be able to shout APOCALYPSE.

Well, I tried something new. I went out and made one of each class with an ideal race. I spent a few hours finding good names. Grabbed a whole bunch of unique ones like “burp” a Panda monk, "salty " an unholy DK and “DrWily” a gnome mage. And “Melancholy” my RP NE Rogue.

So far it’s keeping me straight.

A lot of us seem to have migrated to the Book of Faces. We’ve had a FB page set up there for years.

Spambook is not the place to be anymore. I got out of it years ago and will not return. I’d rather back-step to email chains.

a wise man also once said: “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?”

i’m only on there for fam. otherwise i would’ve left ages ago. .-.

Likewise. (Which has only been important the last couple years with a grandson and two more grandbabies on the way this summer.) Funny enough, I use my Lethie page - not one with my name - and family just has to put up with knowing who I am. And I still see occasional posts from someone here I’d friended when I was a drake.

Man… I hate throwing books away, even if they are toast and ruined.

A few years ago, when I was working third shift support for a retail chain, one store had a water pipe burst over the books section. Ruined a ton of books. That was pretty heartbreaking.

Ugh 7yrs ago the bigest costco in western canada in St. Albert alberta my costco opened up and it took 3yrs to fix the leeky freezer that turned parts into a skating rink.

Gonna make some beans and rice in the slowcooker as I don’t wanna cook tomorrow.

1lb of dry pinto beans
2 onions, diced
4 tbsp of Pinto Bean Seasonings
1 to 2 Smoked Pork Neck Bones or Ham Hocks

Easy to make, throw everything in a crockpot overnight, add enough water to cover the beans.

Serve with rice and hot sauce.

It’s pretty good if you add 4 cups of vegetable broth and add water to cover the beans. I was taught this recipe by a Katrina refugee years ago. It’s a stupid easy dish to prepare.

You can get the ham hocks or the smoke neck bones for about $2-$3 dollars at the local grocery store. The beans will run you about a $1 for a pound bag. I buy onions by the bag as I cook with them all the time. The seasoning is quite easy to get, especially if you live in the south, look for the Fiesta brand in the spice sections, runs about $2 a bottle.

If can’t get the pinto bean seasoning, use Cajun seasoning, does just as well.

It will feed about 10 people with some left over.

Well, that took me a while. Managed to cleaning up my kitchen counter space and wipe everything down.

Tomorrow, gonna clean the gas range and oven.

Yeah, Alvie extended an invitation several weeks ago, but I haven’t mustered the courage to take the next step.

I signed up maybe eleven years ago. At the time, I was considering a career change that would have meant a lot of time away from home, and I was looking at it as a way to stay connected with the (now ex-) wife and kids. Ended up taking a different path that kept me at home. In that time, I think I’ve posted twice, and have an ever-growing list of ignored friend requests (well, not ignored, so much as unacknowledged).

The segment of the family that stays in touch primarily through FB is generally the segment of the family I’d rather not stay in touch with, with very few notable exceptions.
