[CS Lounge] I will roll, roll through the gates of Torghast

a shame that Woodworking/Carpentry isn’t a profession in WoW. Paddy could make chairs, desks and such. then he’d be known as…“Paddy o’Furniture”.

only if Khadgar rolls through the gates of Dalaran, with an emote that says “This old man went rollin’ home.”

Whew, finally getting a chance to sit down and relax.
/plops into pillow fort

Started the day by seeing a new Nurse Practitioner to just see if we could start looking into my health issues. Seen her for about 5 minutes before she called one of the local cardiologists and sent me right over to him.

He did an EKG and will do an echocardiogram and fit me with a holter monitor on the 15th. The results from the echo will determine what type of stress test I have done. Just hoping this doesn’t lead to another heart cath as I am allergic to the dye they use and it really isn’t a pleasant experience.

Not exactly the way I expected to spend my 24th anniversary. But I was able to get home relatively early and then we started dinner. We had steak, shrimp, asparagus, & rice. Dessert was a slice of cream cheese pound cake with peaches (baked locally).

Now finally everything has calmed down and daughter and her family are all in bed. Animals are tended to … so now I can relax and play some WoW for a while.

EDITED TO ADD: I got to have a childhood flashback today when I found sugar plums at the local produce market. I had fond memories of picking those from my Grandmother’s trees as a child. They were so delicious.

Perhaps I will go to bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in my head …

Mosquitos suck.

My fault for reading League of Dragons outside on my hammock* without bug spray, but uuuugh.

I’m still not entirely sure how I got my partner to agree to add that to wedding registry. >_>

Hammocks are the best. I’ve been using one for a few years now instead of a tent when camping, and it’s so much better than sleeping on the ground.

But now I think I need to upgrade to a 2 person hammock, since my dog must sleep in it with me.

So wife does not believe how much we spend on groceries each and every week. I tried to explain it to her. She insisted on making the list herself. Then she turned to me and said see in the Wallyworld app it is $60 less than what you spend.

So I calmly turned to her and said, yeah. Oh did you add the stop at Sams to that as well?

So she asked what we needed at Sams so I listed the items and the prices. Then said now pull out your little clicky button machine on your phone that does the math and add the two numbers together.

Her retort was well next week we don’t need XYZ. So I looked at her and calmly replied no, next week XYZ will be replaced with ABC.

The utter look of deflation on her face was priceless.

Food prices have gone way up. I am paying a lot more for the same things. A ton more!

Whoo hoo! In 10 days hair salons can open again. We haven’t had hair cuts since the beginning of March. If you want to see Big Foot or a Yeti, it feels like a bunch of them are just walking around here! I seems strange that they opened dog groomers last week but people groomers had to wait longer.

Ground Beef has become INSANE here

Have you priced corned beef? It was $35 for a normal size one. Too much!

Wow that is insane. I have not priced it because I am only allowed to make it once a year and it was gloriously delicious 2 months ago. :sob:

It isn’t doing so well here either. Before all of the pandemic stuff got going full force, I could still get ground beef at one of the local grocers for about $1.89/lb. Now it is almost $4/lb.

Yeah, I believe that is due to the beef from California being cut off. They have huge cattle ranches like Harris Ranch that provide A LOT of beef nationwide. It is hurting for sure. The butcher was up to I think $6.99 a pound? Though admittedly, there is hardly any fat in that ground beef so a pound is almost a full pound cooked as well.

I currently live “near” a few different meat processing plants. They’ve all been hit hard, and/or closed down (at least briefly).

I was overdue for a hair cut back in March. I cheated, and did some trimming with a set of clippers. It wasn’t the best, but I felt better about myself, even if I’ve been hiding for the last three months.

I actually had a hair cut right before this started and only just missed when my next appointment would have been. I used to have back length hair before, and I’ve been thinking about growing it out again so this might be a way to do it where the awkward stages won’t be public.

Started going bald at 30, I look like a manic Danny Devito

Ha, jokes on all of you. I started getting a wicked widow’s peak in my 20s. So my best friend and I would joke that if we ever went bald we would embrace it. No running, no trying to hide it with a comb over. Straight up shave it.

Yeah it happened to me, he has a full head of hair the jerk. But, on the plus side, I have not paid for a haircut in over a decade.

20 here. I finally gave up at 32 and shaved it all off.

According to every single person that I know, I look vastly better this way. >_>
