I had a plans on seeing it next week on my days off, but I took look the other day during lunch at work and there was one seat left for tonight. I took it as a sign. Usually i hit matinees.
While looking for a theater to suit my agoraphobic inclinations, I discovered that the 16-screen theater down the road closed last week. It had been remodeled a dozen years ago, but couldnât compete with the amenities being offered elsewhere.
The new owner (a relatively small chain Iâd never heard of before) plans to turn one of the 16 auditoriums into a âpremium previewâ auditorium, and to convert another into a 12-lane ax-throwing venue, as well as remodeling and upgrading the remaining 14 screens.
So⌠are ax-throwing venues the new batting cages, or something? I didnât know the pastime existed outside of lumberjack competitions.
As much fun as theyâre supposed to be, this gif explains why Iâll never go to one:
I think a second of my grandchildren may be getting married sometime soon.
She just completed her BS, and now weâve received an invitation to a RCIA Celebration for her. I had no idea she was even considering becoming Catholic but apparently she had Baptism/Confirmation/First Communion at the Easter Vigil last Sunday (she doesnât live in the same city as us).
My fatherâs family were Irish Catholic, but she was raised Methodist.
Sheâs been dating a practicing Catholic and the celebration is being held at his motherâs house.
Before someone asks or has to Google it, RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (Ordo Initiationis Christianae Adultorum) the Catholic Churchâs process for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism.
Same here, and I have a feeling its going to be like that for a while. D:
STILL think that is fake. She barely moved and the camera man did not at all.
Not a natural reaction t ok the situation to say the least.
I dunno. I would argue that perhaps itâs staged.
I agree that she moved too quick for it to be a natural reaction, but it could easily just be a demonstration to account for the potential dangers if one isnât careful.
In which case, that womanâs precision is a force to be reckoned with.
Sorry staged is a much better word yes.
One of my best friend was raised Catholic and when he was young his parents moved to N.C. and after his stretch in the military he came back and met the woman of his dreams but she was Baptist; He went to the Catholic Church and they refused to marry them unless she converted and so he went to her Baptist Pastor and he talked to both of them for a while and then asked my friend if he believed Jesus died on the cross for our sins and he said Yes Sir and her Pastor said without hesitation âI will marry youâ. Now here we are 30+ years later and they are still happily married Grandparents, LOL.
Anyone seen the movie entitled âWe Were Soldiersâ starring Mel Gibson; Madeleine Stowe; Greg Kinnear & Sam Elliott (just to name a few) based on a true story that dramatizes the Battle of Ia Drang on November 14, 1965 in the Vietnam war? (If not I highly recommend it to anyone who follows war history; Movie is Based on the book We Were Soldiers Once⌠and Young, 1992 by Lieutenant General (Ret.) Hal Moore (Deceased) and reporter Joseph L. Galloway.
Funny thing is that the Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore (Mel Gibson) is Irish Catholic and his wife Julian Compton Moore (Madeleine Stowe) was Methodist.
Just as an FYI they met in Fort Bragg, N.C. and got married by the Chaplain there as well.
Staged or not, I definitely wouldnât stand without some protection between me and those throwing.
I know one thingâŚIâve never used both hands when axe throwing but of course we threw at trees, Iâve never thrown in a place like this, Not designed with safety in mind at all.
Axes huh
They doing knives and stars too?
5 hours to Endgame!
Meatloaf with some nice chunks of peppers and onions for just a little bite
Loaded mash (Think a baked potato with the works) potato with gravy. I bought gravy mix donât judge me.
And sautĂŠed zucchini and omioms
For me and the eldest I will also halve some mushrooms and saute those seperate
I definitely canât be one to judge; During the holidays there have been many times that my gravy came straight out of the good old Heinz Gravy jar bought straight from the store, LOL!
When I was growing up there were no video games or what not, We would romp through the woods, Explore, Make Forts, Throw Axes, knives, Learned all the different types of snakes, spiders, bugs, trees, plants, etc, typical stuff our generation did during that time.
I managed to get tickets for the 2 am show. Weeeeeee!
If that were me, Iâd be falling asleep in the theatre during the movie, especially after a full day of working!
Thatâs what naps are for.
I tend to go to bed around 4am, so Iâll just be out a bit later than normal. Iâm off the next day though and donât have to be at anything until 12:30 pm, so I should be good. Totally worth it!
I figure 10pm is actually 10:30,so Iâm out by 1:30am. Home by 2. Iâm usually in bed between 2 and 3 anyway, so I should be good. Adrenaline not withstandingâŚ
That gets me home around 11pm your time, check here for squees of joy.
With this insomnia of mine if it werenât for naps during the day I couldnât survive, I hope you have an enjoyable time Vrakthris!
