Yow. Best wishes. :X
Thanks, Sadly right after they got it cleared up he had a stroke rendering him paralyzed on his left side.
I quit my job and took care of him for the last 2 years and 4 months of his life, Dementia set in and he eventually lost his ability to swallow.
He passed away 12-21-2003 and was buried on Christmas Eve, I remember the sailors from the Navy coming and giving up their Christmas Eve to play taps for him and fold the flag.
God Bless America!
Just got home from work. Have had it with the local cab company here and really hoping Uber comes here soon.
We only have the cab company here and they like to cause problems with some people. So got off work and called them. A lady picked up and said my cab would be there to pick me up in 10-15 minutes.
Waited 40 minutes and then called them back. First time calling back the new reception guy for the evening hung up on me when I asked when my cab would be here. Called back 5 minutes later and he claims I never called for a cab and that I had to wait another 45 minutes.
So had enough and got a friend to get me. They had to get dressed as they were already in bed to get me. Never bothered calling the cab company back since he kept hanging up on me. So if they arrive to get me at my place of work to get me now - That is their problem for messing around with me.
Also - Did I forget to mention, I waited 3 hours last year for a cab before giving up. Same thing happened that time as well. Kept calling they kept saying another 45 minutes every time I called.
So tempted to contact the local media over this happening to me 2 times now in the past year.
Yikes, local cab companies with no competition suck. we have one like that in town to. Rise against the cab companies.
Well. We used to have two cab companies. But the current cab company bought out the other one back in the 1990s. I have heard a lot of horror stories about this cab company.
Not going into any specific details, But I heard one story that should have been reported to the local police. Cab company doesn’t look into any complaints here because they know they can get away with it since they got the monopoly here.
Luckily the transit system here is expanding next year. So I’ll be able to take bus home more often. Which is good!
Or take Uber or Lyft if they are available where you live.
They are currently only available in Vancouver, BC. I live in the Okanagan of BC and they are not authorized to be in service here yet.
Call your local politicians and get everyone you know to do so as well. Demand the services be available.
I’m planning on doing so. I’m calling my local MLA tomorrow to discuss this issue with her. I’m thinking of submitting a petition as well to my local government. Going to have petitions around town for people to sign.
And cab companies wonder why people prefer Uber/Lyft; well that and the prices.
For a long time while I was in Michigan, there were “three” cab companies in town - all owned by the same people. So you had choice, but not really.
IIRC to get an Uber license, one must get insurance to cover passengers? I asked a school bus driver about this in Alberta and that’s what he figures.
From Uber’s website:
Do I need to buy my own insurance?
Uber maintains auto insurance designed for rideshare drivers on your behalf when you’re driving on our platform. When you’re not driving with Uber, you would use your own personal auto insurance. Many personal auto insurers offer rideshare insurance endorsements that include additional coverage for rideshare drivers, but this is not required for you to sign up to drive with Uber. Contact your insurance company for details. Note: Uber does not maintain primary auto insurance coverage on behalf of commercially insured drivers.

I finally today got The Horseman’s Horrific Hood to drop on a plate-wearer. On my main account. I don’t know how many of them I’ve gotten over the years on clothies.
Edit:
Got two. One on a Pally and one on a DK.
As a Shaman I feel that I should point out that the veil between the spirit worlds and ours is at its thinnest on Walpurgisnacht (Beltane) as well as Halloween (Samhain).
Spooky was the other name for Puff the Magic Dragon, a very scary aircraft.
