Something I failed to take into account when I bought an actual new (not just new to me) car: how much annual registration costs. I think it was less than $50 last year for an 11-year-old car; it’s almost $600 for the new beast. It’s definitely turned into an expensive spring.
Also, the corned beef was a bust. I don’t know what I did wrong, but it was literally stomach-turning. I couldn’t finish my plate, not even the veggies; for the first time I can remember in my 50+ years, I spit out carrots.
After the roommates went to bed, I quietly dumped the contents of the crock pot into a trash bag and took it straight to the can. He told me today he took a peek at it while I was downstairs trying to choke it down and, just based on the appearance, was relieved I hadn’t offered them any.
There is a thread started on GD that may be of help! I did make it in a bout of frustration because it was when Healer Brann was taking full damage from AoEs, so at the start of the fight he’s just dead and my healing, gone with him.
Nappy dwarf, I’ll tell you that much. You’ll get it though!
@Teufelgott, sorry to heal the meal went south. And the extra registration cost on top of it! Going by that corned beef discussion a bit ago maybe someone can figure out what happened? Sure it’ll come out better next time.
Oh, uh, good morning! Hope you all have a good pre-friday!
This morning mine seem fixated on the birds outside the windows. Spring is great for that. They are totally ignoring me now that I fed them.

Yesterday I got the masonry paint top coat on the front porch foundation wall so that is done! Cleaned, caulked, primed, and finish coated! I also finished putting together the raised planting bed/cart thing. Very soft wood and cracks easily so I am going to use it for containers, not as an actual filled bed. It was a gift so I really can’t complain.
I need to make myself LEAVE the house today if I want the $1.98/lb boneless pork loin roasts. They come in huge vacuum sealed packages that you have to butcher yourself. That is fine! I can cut it into roasts and/or chops then freeze. Makes for pulled pork, grilled chops, and other assorted lovely things for the summer.
I don’t want to go out though. We shall see. Maybe I will also go to the home improvement store and get mulch and dirt too. They are in the same shopping center.
Planning to take over the world! Just like every night. Honestly that would be an improvement! I vote for our new feline overlord!
Very very beautiful kitty. Looks a lot like a former foster I had. The adopter still sends me pictures and named him…Blizzard. She calls him Blizzy. I did not have the heart to tell her I have any association with a gaming company by that name! I get a giggle out of it every time she sends “Blizzy” pictures.
Up before the alarm today; I’m not sure if that’s good or bad [edit: apparently, bad]. Got a little rain overnight apparently, though I don’t think it was too much.
And… I started this, and moved on to … whatever… So it sat here, unsent for a couple hours.
Some proper roast sounds really darn good, honestly. And that’s a great price for having to do a bit of prep! Well worth the venture to the outdoors. (And the other stuff too, if you get it!)
I do that all the time. Start something up, brain wants to nap a bit longer, finish it…Possibly after the discussion has already ended.
