Red Beans are simmering. I’ll get the rice going in a couple hours (closer to when the beans should be finished). Then, a quick dinner and off to bowling.
The recipe, if anyone is interested (though I’m sure I’ve posted it before):
1 pound dry kidney beans
¼ cup olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
6 cups water
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon dried sage
1 pound andouille sausage, sliced
4 cups water
2 cups long grain white rice
Gather all ingredients.
Rinse beans, and then soak in a large pot of water overnight.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic in olive oil for 3 to 4 minutes.
Rinse beans, and transfer to a large pot with 6 cups water. Stir cooked vegetables into beans. Season with bay leaves, parsley, thyme, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, and sage. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 2 1/2 hours.
Stir sausage into beans, and continue to simmer for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the rice. Bring water and rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve beans over steamed white rice.
Maintenance for World of Warcraft just got extended until 12:00 PM PST a few minutes ago. Figured I would mention here so anyone that may not have been aware is now.
And the only thing girly is their insecurity. Mogs are for enjoying your efforts in the game. I wish I could take WoW’s mogs into D4 Sometimes I just feel like being silly while slaying demons.
Already time for a hotfix, hoo boy. Supposed to buy something off Reno for quest progression, but he doesn’t have it available for purchase at this time.
Yeah. But I have to go bowling in a little bit. Can’t be stuffed for that. But there’s enough for me to have a nice big bowl of it tomorrow (and the day after, the day after that…).
If the first two bosses in LFR are any indication, this tier stands to be a knockout hit. We dabble in normal in a few hours, but Rik Reverb in LFR is already an enjoyable encounter.
Stuffed is the only way to bowl (unless it also sets up ye ol’ #2 to get moving). The constant up and down and flailing around with the ball will eat up some calories.
Also, it looks like the D4 devs made literal copypasta from D3 with the gelatinous goblin, right down to the bug where if you DPS it too fast, it poofs instead of splitting into smaller gobs.
Gets worse. This is happening with a heartseeker build that can only either blow stuff up on T2 or unable to kill the goblins in time on T3. There’s no in between with D4’s scaling. As much as I hate saying this, a more granular setup like what D3 has would really, really help D4 and allow the season journey to have slightly more challenging aspects without being meta/broken or bust.
Had a good time last night bowling. New oil pattern, so it took us a bit to figure it out. Unfortunately for us, apparently our opponents had already figured it out (it’s the owner’s team, so he probably practiced all day on it ). But I was over average for the night, and the substitute bowler we had did well, too.
It rained pretty much all night. How do I know? I kept waking up. And then the power went out for a second (long enough to make the smart bulbs come on when the power came back). Needless to say, no walk this morning, beyond what was required for Onyx to take care of things.
Drinks all the coffee, but starts another pot - gonna need it
