Buncha pups… You can all get off my lawn.
I have no idea … I call myself old as well seeing as I am retired and in my 50s.
Thank goodness we still have people send on errands and pick up the heavy stuff! Hah
I am glad there are a whole range of folks here. Far more fun that way.
But we need the young ones to MOW the lawn!
My 7 days in a row working turned into 8 when someone called in sick and they asked me to work yesterday instead of today. Now I’m off until next Sunday, which is nice, but I’m so tired. As a result, I’ve spent virtually zero energy on preparing food today.
Things I have eaten today:
Pretzels dipped in honey mustard
Leftover Thai jasmine rice with sugar and coconut milk
Leftover pizza
Half of a take-&-bake bread that was in the freezer
Packaged cole slaw with bottled spicy peanut sauce (I felt like I should eat a vegetable)
Cheez-its
Handful of peanuts mixed with extra dark chocolate chips
This is peak “didn’t feel like getting off the couch” dining.
I have some stuff to make proper food when I have more energy.
Your not old till what u think is modern music is now considered classic or ancient.
Something that made me blink a few times today. The local govt posted a picture of the senior center valentines day lunch celebration. The DJ and screen for music had… 80’s and 90’s music. They did not mean 80 and 90 year old people either. I am not used to my era (and a bit after it) being classic and used for senior functions.
I had ramen and some crackers with peanut butter. I might have some ice cream. I COULD make real food but I just can’t seem to get the mojo to do that.
Looks like I am in the same category you are today. Grab what is easy in the kitchen.
I almost had ramen but I was stuck on the idea that I should only have it if I added meat and veggies, which seemed like too much work. Which is silly, because a) I would have microwaved frozen veggies and opened a can of chicken breast, so it’s barely more effort than reheating the pizza was; and b) I don’t know why my brain was stuck on that anyway. I’ve eaten it with only the packaged ingredients a thousand times. No-energy days are exactly why I keep it in the house.
The pizza was pretty good. It was a Home Chef kit that I bought on markdown for under $5. Dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni. I bought green pepper and mushroom to add to it, but decided I wasn’t feeling the veggies. Crust wasn’t quite cooked through by the time the cheese browned, though - next time I’ll follow the optional instructions for par baking the crust first.
Edit: it sounds like you used up your mojo on home improvement activities. Good tradeoff I think.
I made it with chili pepper flakes and some peanut butter to make it into spicy peanut ramen. I figured that was at least a protein.
I still stand by what I said about Blizzcon.
That said. Using that fuzzy math of mine. I suspect you are around Alvie’s age.
Confirmed. I’m old.
Hope you all having a great night!
Finally out of the deep freeze temperatures where I live. Supposed to be on single plus digit temperatures by Monday! No more extreme cold weather. Earlier this week we were around -10 for daytime highs.
I have a feeling vraks fona need a strong pot of tea when he gets in same with coffee for orlyia.
yeah CV is v bad. thankfully i live in a better area and not like… bonita
Good morning.
Should be a nice, calm weekend. Well, outside of the sharp influx of rain but shouldn’t be too bad.
It snowed in Orgrimmar yesterday! And then rained! Makes me wonder if someone is cooking over there as Orgrimmar has been woefully lacking in weather effects. I really like Stormwind because of it’s foggy, rainy weather and was always sad Orgrimmar never got the same treatment.
Enjoy your weekend, stay warm, safe, and well!
I feel like I’m going to struggle with all three of these this weekend!
Incoming storm #2 for this past week…30 cms/a foot of snow along with a day of freezing rain…crossing fingers the power stays on.
Okay…staying safe should be easier…just not going to go anywhere
As for staying well, I work with littles (3-6 year olds) and they’re a germ factory on a good day. Been fighting off one airborne thing after another.
We could really use some better weather here, fresh air, open windows…the works!!
This month is kinda flying on by, so spring will be coming up! I’m kinda done with the weather choosing between it being cold, nice, rainy, snowy, or a combination of all four.
Mornin’ folks.
Our winter weather has been cut back a bit - we’re now expecting eight inches of snow instead of ten to twelve. It’s still going to be cold and windy for the next few days.
Got back from the morning walk and decided to go get a haircut. I get to the barber shop and there’s nobody parked there. Okay, I’ve got time to get my breakfast before I sit and wait for him to open (it’s the only way to get in and out reasonably quickly on Saturday). I come back and there’s still nobody waiting. Sure enough, there’s a note on the door that he’s closed so he can go watch his son bowl in a high school tournament. Guess I’ll try again on Monday.

/Yawns. Sees the lounge is in good shape, adds wood to the fire, fluffs the pillows and runs the vacuum. Nice and clean! Sets out the huge vat of coffee with a giant bamboo themed mug next to it. Assorted other sturdy mugs are also handy. Sets out the hot water kettle, cocoa, cream/toppings, and fixings. Also sets out some fresh warm cranberry orange muffins and fruit. Crock pot of chili is on the counter for later along with corn bread.
We are going to get ice and snow this morning but nothing will stick. Then rain. Lots of rain. Our next big storm is Wed-Thurs which might give me real snow finally. Maybe even 8" of snow!
1947 linen closet work is going nicely. I figured out how to get the shelf boards out! Now I can easily access the back wall to caulk the corner cracks in the stucco/plaster stuff before I sand and prime. I ordered some waterproof vinyl removeable wallpaper for the back wall. White with a grey and blue twig pattern. Simple, but a bit of visual interest. I shall see what I think when it gets here. Door to the closet needs repair, the baseboard need to be repaired and put back in, the plumbing access panels they made in the wall need to be painted or something too. At least now the shelves can be taken out and sanded properly and easily painted!
This is going to take days. Good part is that it keeps my mind off other things.
Anything is better than Otay Mesa where I used to live. Well, maybe not Nasty City. Chula Vista has added a lot since I last lived in San Diego, but what it added feels mostly like ghetto and less like progress. Still, CV has the triumvirate of convenience: Walmart, Target, and Costco all within a two block span. You seriously can’t beat that for choice.
Sigh get into work its 8ish there a group of losers i mean scalpers waiting to get in to try to buy as much pokemon cards as they can dont people have better things to do.
