I did too. But everything with Princess Leia was distracting. I get what they were doing, and especially why. But it was just poorly executed, in my humble opinion.

I am guessing you all have to remote into your workstations via very secure logins?
Yes, we’re all set up with a secure connection and remote access to our workstations in the office. Similar to how my team worked during BlizzCon out of the convention center. I have to say, we’ve definitely seen some improvements since then. The BlizzCon systems sometimes had some serious lag. There has been the occasional lag here and there, but it’s mostly been smooth for me. I also have a fairly good system at home, so that helps.

They closed all restaurants except take out here. Also all bars, casinos theaters and gyms. I guess my birthday dinner is on hold. We always go out for that. I am going to venture out to go food shopping tomorrow. Dreading it. I may be making some creative meals based on what I find.

The head of health for our city is recommending the closure of our bars and restaurants too.
Last week the government decided to close our schools for an additional 2 weeks after March break, so we’re into a little bit of home-schooling mode starting this week.
As for groceries, we’re lucky. When this all started to go downhill, I was able to stock us up for a couple of weeks. Today at Walmart, the shelves were mostly bare. But there were still some essentials and a whole lot of fresh produce too.
Canada announced today that our borders are closed to all non-Canadians with the exception of Americans. It’s a difficult decision but I wouldn’t be surprised if the border with our family to the south also ends up closed to everyone except commerce since we rely pretty heavily on each other for trade.
I keep thinking to myself, how will I explain this to our grandchildren in the future!?!

Yup yup! I’m effected by this(as a teacher). The last 48 hours have been pressuring not knowing whether I was getting paid for the force time leave. We had a meeting today and I’m secure for this week, but they can’t guarantee the last 2 weeks. So I’m throwing my resume as far as it can go for temp jobs.

Dude, there is NO WAY the CTA, one of the most powerful unions in the nation will let you not get paid for this. Just my opinion of course. My wife works for an Early Headstart company here in town, and they are closed as well. She will get paid as if they were open thankfully.

Also, Aik, I was at the store last night, and there was not even a lot of popcorn on the shelves. Are you sure you have enough popcorn to go around? You claim this is your popcorn party for all. That is a lofty claim. You best be able to back it up. I can eat me some popcorn buddy.

We got our “order” today - 6 SF Bay Area counties on a “shelter in place” order. Thankfully I was already all set up from the chemo period last year, so I just left work and came home and kept working after the announcement.
