Had to get creative in order to quote from the last lounge.
It wouldn’t actually be any different from any other delivery, other than it would take place in a hallway rather than front step. Unless the customer wants to conduct the transaction at the building entrance, then it would be exactly same.
In other work-related news, the new manager is a confirmed jerk. Yesterday he conned an untrained teenage CSR into covering his closing shift so he could call off sick, knowing full well she hadn’t been trained to lead a shift, let alone close the store at the end of the night. He made her a couple promises HR and Payroll aren’t going to let him keep. And when she reached the end of her knowledge and needed his help, he ghosted her. There was nothing more we could do but clock out, lock the door and leave for the night. No idea what sort of mess that’s going to create for today’s opening manager.
If something doesn’t change soon, I’m considering asking the franchise’s director of operations to come for a visit so the staff can meet with him one-on-one to voice their concerns about the new GM’s management style.
On the bright side, I’m off for the next three days, and after I drop my car off at the shop this morning, I have no further obligations, and plan to socially distance myself with some popcorn, M&Ms and adult beverages while I work to clear out the DVR (I’ve got all of the last series of Doctor Who to get to, among other things).
Sounds to me like you need to only do your job description and nothing more for a bit and let this dude understand the proper laybof the land around there.
I do th t to the cook j dk t like all the time. Hey can you… Nope. I am here as an aide not a cook. Do you know where blah blah is in the freezer? Noni dont(I do) go find it. Will you find it for me? Nope
That’s exactly what I’m doing - pulling back from all the extra tasks I’ve taken off the manager’s plate over time, putting them back on his plate. I was giving up the little things first; folding boxes and stocking incidentals in the kitchen to make things easier for the opening team. Last night, I was going to beg off helping with the weekly inventory (“helping”… I count everything except dough, cheeses and meats). I was waffling on whether or not to help with the grocery order.
Him not being there meant nobody did the inventory (which complicated the closing process for the poor CSR… the system wouldn’t let her proceed without entering the inventory) or the food order.
The only thing I’m holding onto that isn’t specifically in my job description is the beverage order. That’s gonna be my spite weapon. He’ll know he’s pushed me beyond my limit when the Coke order just doesn’t show up one week.
Oof, stayed up way too late last night playing Civ VI with my sister-in-law and two of her good friends, one of whom was completely new to it. So now I’ve got a not-headache pushing at the back of my forehead. (Not-headache means it feels like it’s going to morph into something but isn’t there yet.)
I’d played some WOW Classic earlier in the day, spending a bit of time on my 45 tauren warrior. While I’m slowly getting gold for a mount, I would rather avoid a kodo completely. But that means somehow pulling off exalted rep with Orgrimmar. So I’m revisiting lower zones trying to get every possible dribble of rep I can, and maybe wool and silk for a turn-in.
Probably won’t have a mount until 60 though, just because of that. But that’s okay, because it means I could get the rogue and hunter their mounts pretty close to 40. They’re both 36 now, a troll and an orc.
So the cook just tried to tell me what I was doi g tomorrow. I talked to my boss Saturday AND today to confirm exactly what I was doing. She just doesn’t want to serve.
Boss put that on shut down real fast. I was secure in the knowledge of what I was told to do already haha.
i’m starting to get back into that…though i feel it’s better played with others, as the AI can be a bit…unreasonable at times. .-. sadly, i have no one to play it with really. i doubt anyone in my guild even plays something like this, though i should ask at some point.
i was playing earlier…trying to find a group for Deadmines. things got a lil bit heated though, as some didn’t take kindly to players referring to Deadmines as “VC” (short for VanCleef), as some may mistaken “DM” for “Dire Maul” and i said people would mention like “East”, “West” or “North” if they were referring to Dire Maul…but i digress.
I get around that by refusing to abbreviate dungeon names when I post looking for other people. (But also by playing much more heavily Horde, so the only time I’ve done Deadmines was with my brother, sister-in-law, cousin, and me getting there from Stranglethorn Vale.)
Running through areas you have been many, many, many times before you sort of mindlessly pass NPCs that you don’t ordinarily interact with. Then you see a character in an inn in Stormwind: Daphne Funkybeats
with the glorious title of “Warrior Trainer, Talent & Leadership Director”
mine? i was just venting about dungeon groups being either below or above my level, and never in between. .-.
i’ve got some airmiles i can redeem for $10 off my order persay…trying to put that off for as long as possible, so i can make supplies last me till payday.
yeah, i saw her for the first time once before and i was like “wait, who’s this now? .-.”
i’m sorry to say…that i don’t have a clue who that is. ._.
