Cross faction guilds when?

It’s been great having more groups and players to play with, but my guild has also gotten smaller and all those that left, well they haven’t actually left, they transferred to alliance and made an alliance guild of the same name. We are waiting Blizzard, and no doubt I can’t be the only guild in this game who had the same happen, players bail over to alliance.

On top of the extra players, I think it’s actually split the player base more now that we can group with the opposite faction because instead of finding all your guild members in your guild we now have this or that person move either permanently, or we have to make more communities, add more players to our friends list and generally find it harder to keep in touch with those we have been playing with for years because they have moved factions.

So your guild transfered over and no one thought this would happen even though you can’t speak to the other guild? Discord is there.

As for cross faction guilds, this wouldn’t help either way when the population is leaving.

Yeah it really feels like they need to make up their mind whether they’re in or out on xfaction.

Either go all in on cross faction or don’t, don’t pick and choose who gets to benefit from it and who doesn’t.

Yeah it feels like a weird half completed effort. But that sort of sums up Blizzard lately, so I don’t know.

I just hope it’s merely delayed due to technical reasons and to measure overall player reception to crossfaction grouping.

Really hope this is the case, if they continue to insist on keeping it for only certain forms of content, then only players who play that type of content will see the benefits and anyone else will still be feeling the effects of the current problems.

Will just be a continuation of Ion’s play the game the way we tell you mentality.

in my opinion, just hang on a little. dragonflight will bring new and old players back to the game.

I’ve yet to see anyone strongly against it or come up with a good argument against it, I’m sure they’ll add it eventually. Given how tricky it seemed like getting xfaction grouping right was this week I can imagine doing everything all at once wouldn’t have gone well

Yeah it definitely feels like they just wanted X-Faction out of the gates as soon as possible, and knew that XF Guilds would be something that has to be done later for a 9.2.5 launch date.

It’s not like XF has had the smoothest launch and any system as old as guilds are has gotta have some spaghetti under the hood.

Cross-faction guilds, imo, are inevitable. It’s probably just a matter of how long it’ll take it for it to be ready. Don’t forget that this will also most certainly affect War Mode and how they’ll have to adjust for it.

Don’t communities handle this?

You can have cross-faction guilds, but only in bubble worlds like instances, as we’re seeing. (Well, you could have a “cross-faction guild” where people can’t trade or group or quest together, but… doesn’t seem like much of a guild, to me.)

I’ve been explaining this to people for a long time, about how Blizzard can do whatever in instances because they’re split off from the rest of the game. But factions are so hard-designed into the open world that you cannot have cross-faction without removing the factions entirely.

And people kept telling me I was wrong, and then lo-and-behold, cross-faction comes out with exactly the sorts of limitations that I was telling everyone about.

And people STILL tell me I’m wrong.

I just wish people other than me would actually think this through for once.

Cross faction guilds now!!
