Play with More Friends with Cross-Faction Guilds

I think the fact that they announced and are pushing the feature out without having figured it out ahead of time is kind of garbage personally.

“Figure it out”?

This is it.

This is the extent you can do cross-faction in WoW. The faction barrier is hard-coded into the game at almost every level. You can work around it in instances because they’re their own little bubble universes, but outside of instances, just about everything is H- or A-tagged. And there’s no way around that without rewriting the game from scratch.

There’s no way Blizz didn’t know this would be a problem.

The only “problem” is that Blizzard caved in and agreed to “cross-faction” guilds when the game cannot deliver on that fully.

A lot of us have been telling people this for a long time, now. It’s just that nobody listened.

Cross faction guilds when?

You can have cross-faction guilds, but only in bubble worlds like instances, as we’re seeing. (Well, you could have a “cross-faction guild” where people can’t trade or group or quest together, but… doesn’t seem like much of a guild, to me.) I’ve been explaining this to people for a long time, about how Blizzard can do whatever in instances because they’re split off from the rest of the game. But factions are so hard-designed into the open world that you cannot have cross-faction without removin…

This is absolutely, 100%, what was expected. And it’s not going to change.
