Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

They have already told me all sales are final. So we will see.

Looking at what Blizzard had directed earlier in the post, which was to post system information and crashes, a lot of people posted all the system information EXCEPT the graphics card. However, from the few who did, a common trend was the freezing occurring on computers with integrated Intel graphics. The people who fixed the problem on their own had a secondary graphics card like Radeon that they could switch to. While yes, it seems Blizzard may be taking a while, it’s also not entirely their fault when you don’t give them the information they need to figure out what’s wrong.

Edit: This is also why installing WoW on Bootcamp won’t fix it. It’s likely not an OS issue, its a hardware issue that just happens to affect Macs more than the average Windows user.

LIke everyone else, game working worse after Tuesdays “fix”. I’ll give it another week. Then I’m done. A sad ending to 12 years of gameplay but Blizz is more concerned with auction house mail than thousands who can’t play the game. Oh, and I will be getting a f#%king refund…

Okay update to our issue. Once I updated the hotfix everything seemed better (I even made it through silvershard mines on my paladin). The more I played it was clear that just as everyone else has mentioned my game isnt any better either. My warrior has experienced freezes during the new mogu assault. My monk experienced two freezes in the motherlode dungeon.

These two weren’t the worse part. Even with the freezes I was still able to complete the content.

The worse part came when I tried to do Battle for Gilneas on my priest. As soon as the big fight started game froze and eventually computer crashed.

Absolutely unplayable, Catalina, running ABT on an alt.

I feel ya bro I had to get carried through normal today by my guild only managed to get one boss kill where I didn’t crash at beginning, or crash every other 2 seconds!!

I remember Warlords of Draenor expansion launch day and what a nightmare that was, how angry players we’re. This is like ten times worse :man_facepalming:

Downloaded patch, played 15 min, hard system reboot. I remember something like this happening at the beginning of the legion, when everything was unplayable.
MacOS Catalina V 10.15.2
iMac 21,5 Late 2015.
3.1 GHz quad-core Intel core i-5
Memory 8GB
Graphic - Intel iris Pro 6200.

Not the best Mac but it was playable before 8.3 even on around 5 settings

I assure you that further action needs to be taken.

I am only just into Panderia on this toon and as soon as I try to take down multiple mobs while questing or like just now, a scenario-type encounter takes place to kill a mob, the problems persist. Everything freezes, spinning rainbow wheel, intermittent sounds still pop through as I hope my Macbook does not crash again.

This issue has not been fixed.

After the update - game is pretty playable for the most part. I was able to complete the new quests in Pandaria & complete two keystones. Did a +6 Mechagon & it was realllllllly laggy. Did an Underrot +5 & had no issues. When completing the new quest line in Pandaria I had a freeze happen for about 15-20 seconds which caused a death. Like better, but not great.

I will add my name to the list of players who cant play. New raid was unplayable, crashes in most major content while grouped. not so much an issue while solo. Interestingly, my CPU fan does not spin very much here… its like GPU usage is low. selecting the intel built in GPU crashes the game, have to leave it as “auto detect”

“and confirm if there are any additional actions that we need to take.”

Yeah, no further action is required. Just remove Macs from the game’s supported devices.

Game seems smoother after Maintenance. Also seen a slight improvement in graphics. Crashes & freezing STILL happening tho! Cmon blizzz i got faith you guys can get this solved! Been a player for 12 years. Seen some of the darkest days. Yall got this!

Still crashing at stage 5 of the Halls of Origination scenario. Graphics are a little better though. It’s a start. Please tell me the fix happens in the next couple days and not after a week.
I was gonna get back into raiding this patch too. :frowning:

yeah Im over this…think Ill try again next Tuesday and see if they have figured this out. Haven’t played since MOP days and this is just disappointing to say the least…

They said specifically that they were not going to give up on this error. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/16-macbook-83-workin-great-for-me-grateful-for-mac-support/415512/8?u=janmorel-malganis
Sure seems like it to me.

I’ll chime in:

MBP, 13", 2019
2.4 Ghz Core i5
8GB
Iris Plus 655

I bought this machine four days ago.

Mostly what everyone else has been saying; in combat suddenly the pin wheel of many colors shows up. Sunday it would lag me out for 5-10 secs and then resume. Tonight, on the target dummy in Boralus, the screen would freeze and not come back to life, BUT I could still cast (I could tell by the sound).

What gives?

Parallels desktop was a bit laggy. However, running window through apple’s bootcamp…I have never seen the game run so smoothly. No lag. Amazing graphics. NO CRASHES. I have a iMac 2015 (21.5 inch), running Catalina 10.15 and I highly recommend you guys try this if you have the space. The problem is not blizzard here entirely, this is apple too, and macOs just does not have the proper graphic card settings to run games with Directx11. Time are changing, many games now a days use this graphic setting and it was a matter of time before WoW did too. Just wish there was a warning.
