Crafted Items should NOT be BIS

You are complaining because you happen to loot 639 gear in crafted gear slots. So, those pieces feel worthless. I get it.

But, again, the real issue is that loot was RNG. If you had better RNG and looted 639 trinkets instead of those pieces sitting in your bag, I assume you would feel differently.

Although RNG didn’t work out in your favor for the pieces sitting in your bag, it doesn’t change the fact that crafted gear still helps to counter bad RNG overall.

Let me paint a scenario. You FINALLY killed mythic silkran for the 639 super rare neck that gives versaility procs and mana to healers. It’s nice and looks awesome you get a 639 rare neck. You sim and You end up not even being able to use it because a crafted item level 636 does better. So that rare neck that you just won just rots in your bag. I know this gets tricky when we start to add secondary stats and all, but the problem is …sometimes there is no higher best secondary stat heavy leaning gear in a season… and it may just be that having 2 equal secondary stats is your best option.

This is what i’m saying. blizz needs to make sure each season there is a gear that is heavy stat leaning to make it more BIS. Defaulting to crafted equial stats shoudl also be subpar.

Ooh that’s handy. Are they engineer only?

its .4 of an ilvl difference. 6 ilvl out of 14.

Nope just engi crafted

he just wants number go up

so every slot in every raid/m+ season drops with every possible combination of secondaries?

absolutely not. hard pass.

If you don’t care about toughness sure. Some do.

And if you don’t like neck, why would you ever consider rolling for it or whatever it is mythic raid do.

yes, it’s practically almost there. it’s only a few more pieces that it s missing

okay. do you understand that will make it harder, not easier, to get the stat combo you want?

Your topic is silly and you should feel silly

Incorrect. The ilvl shown when you apply to a group is your bag ilvl, if you have max ilvl like you suggest, it will show you at 639, instead of the 638 equipped with 2 crafted embellishments.

Not only that, but even if the game showed equipped instead of bag ilvl, the only people who would be in a position to face this dilemma, are people with enough knowledge to know that 638 means max ilvl with 2 crafted and 639 means not using crafted items which means 639 is weaker.

If part of the allure is showing you are max ilvl, then there is currently nothing in the game stopping you from doing that by simply having max ilvl of every item, don’t even need to equip them over your crafted embellishments.

Hence the reason for the change. Because BIS crafted should not be greater than dropped items.

maybe they could make the crafted items you have equipped get worse once a better ilvl piece drops for you in that slot

BIS items should take a combination of crafting, rare mythic raid drops, and a tedious open world quest chain that requires a raid for assistance.

Vanilla really got it right the first time.

On average they arent lol.

Ignoring that people said over and over they didnt want profession to be useless.

You made a thread over sacrificing less than half an overall ilvl in exchange for complete control of 2 pieces of gear, secondaries, and bonus effects.

You are only saying this because you already had a higher item level drop.

But, if people were gearing from scratch and crafted gear was removed as BIS for 2 slots, then gearing would become more difficult overall due to RNG.

I assume most people would not want gearing to become more difficult just to have a chance to gain 3 item levels in 2 slots. I know I don’t.

Do they really though?

Professions suuuuccckkkk. No ones debating that. Its more they are debating in some alternative game hey might not suck.

The entirety of professions gameplay is hitting a single button. Everything else is other game play like quests it attaches itself to.

If professions vanished tonight and content was just scaled down to not rely on consumables I dont think many players would miss it.

Unless it was a… World of WarCRAFT?
