How is “Crafted gear becomes objectively worse” a middle ground?
You’d still most likely use crafted gear on prog and for most of the season.
This is like a very small endgame tuning, moreover if the restriction is you need to sacrifice a vault weekly to put one.
My point- EXACTLY! I want my item ilvl to show the highest it can be at the end of the day. Knowing i have a 639 in my bag that i cannot use - just really frustrates me.
This is the way.
As long as they aren’t leggos like it was in Shadowlands I am ok with it.
Because its a nothing but a gold sink that is gated by a massive time sink with near zero gameplay…
You can use it. What you are asking is for gear to have 1 stat, level.
Too bad that’s just incorrect.
BIS crafted has always been a thing. Have you never had to put together legendary weapons? Embellishments are flavorful ability boosts as well. Don’t like it, don’t do it. “When we were kids, we played with broken glass. And we liked it!”–Grumpy Old Man
Guess what legendary items have… a much higher item level !!! You got it!
To you, you mean. Not some mythical group of people that you just happen to represent.
How is legion always been a thing?
Edit sorry i mean sl… less we are gonna count the few select tiers darkmoom cards were good.
Disagree with that too. BiS should not be available from Vault.
Who WOULDNT want a higher item level to do more damage? Who would rather use a lower item level because it did more damage? No - most people would rather equip a higher item level than a lower item level even if damage were the same.
Source: I made it up.
WoW has a gearing system where there are actually multiple factors that are relevant. Cutting that down to a single metric isn’t a net gain.
Again, you’re missing my point. It can still be a good system and be a hefty upgrade, but it should not replaced an item that is dropped from highest difficulty content.
Hammer of the Lightbringer and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker say hello.
Edit: and let’s not forget Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros
Yes, because the only thing you should have to think about is item level, nothing else. Might as well just remove all stats from gear so people don’t get confused at all.
Crafted gear stops at 636
BiS gear is 639
So…crafted isnt BiS
Quite the opposite actually. I think when an item level isn’t an upgrade over a lower an item level, it causes MORE confusion and inherently less straightforward.
That’s exactly what you’re arguing for. You don’t want to have to consider anything other than item level.
