Covid sucks man. My family got it, the kids didn’t get too sick fortunately but I was literally so tired and felt achy for like three days I didn’t even make it out of the bed. It cleared up but left me with a nasty case of bronchitis for a week after. So even tho I was supposed to go back to work after a certain amount of days, I just couldn’t do it with my cough.
The coughing was so bad at night time that I considered going to the hospital on three separate occasions. I couldn’t case my breath and was like gasping and stuff. Bleh.
It ran through my house around the end of August, beginning of September. That
knocked me down and beat on me like I owed it money. Fortunately none of us have any lingering effects like I keep hearing about from others.
Plenty of fluids, plenty of rest and feel better soon!
I am very sick right now with a flu I caught from my 4 year old son. Very weak, achy, searing headache, horrifically painful and persistant cough, weezing, always out of breath…
I had Covid twice before and I must have been fortunate because although it was quite uncomfortable it was never like this.
Humanity needs better drugs. People shouldn’t have to suffer like this.
It depends what people mean by “Covid is over.” Is the virus still here infecting people? Yes and it likely will be for the foreseeable future. Are we done with shutting down everyone’s lives in order to try to contain it? Also yes and honestly that’s a good thing.
Covid is real and people should adjust their behavior to mitigate risk as much as they reasonably can. That means masking when you’re sick and if possible, don’t go into the office and give your Covid to everyone there.
But lockdowns have a real cost and yes, that cost can include people’s livelihood and lives. That cost is not always worth the benefit of containment. It’s simply not a viable solution anymore.
Covid sucks. I had it over the summer and yeah, it’s not fun. I’m young and healthy and triple vax’d though so I had no long-lasting repercussions. My understanding as well is that the new more common Omicron variant is more transmissible, but less deadly than the older variants. That does matter. It’s going to be harder and harder to avoid Covid, but less likely for it to affect you negatively in the long term. That’s not to say that no one will have serious repercussions from it, but there should be some amount of personal risk mitigation.
In short, for me Covid is indeed over. I’m basically living my life the same way I did before the pandemic. If I get sick, I work from home. But I did that before too and I don’t really treat Covid and differently from the flu. I don’t mind getting vaccinated or masking up when I need to, but I’m not structuring my life around Covid anymore.
Well this gamer never has had it yet…no shots either but I feel reason I have been spared is cause I am a home hermit and I avoid humans like a plague…have all most of my groceries delivered seeing I have no car and disabled…the times I do go to local store near my house I avoid everyone as much as possible…my PTSD from the Military keeps me like that …Thanks too Amazon and Walmart I am in good shape. I have very few people I get near anymore …heck I don’t even want to be around my VA doctor…don’t trust them. I’ll just stick to way I live and be safe.
Well, a lot of interesting stories and opinions here.
For myself I managed to avoid getting covid since it started, mostly by being a home hermit and an introvert yes, but then again I’ve been working from home since our office shut down in march 2020, groceries are delivered and most of the stuff I needed otherwise, Amazon was there to help out. Regardless I got the vaccine 3 times, not really for myself as at 30+ im in pretty good physical health but rather for the sake of enjoying what small gathering with family I could enjoy during the summer or the holidays while the pandemic was going on.
My 80 year old grandfather is healthy as a bull and because we wanted to see each other I got the vaccine because I refused to put him at any kind of risk if I could help it. Or any other person i know for that matter, especially family. I don’t much care for the politics around vaccination or not, people can do what they want and it got real bad here in Canada too, but what I do for myself is up to me. Wearing a mask or getting a shot is easy compared to having to watch anyone you are close too suffer or die.
Maybe I just put common decency and compassion before any kind of political/religious rhetoric. But to each their own.
I hope everyone is safe out there. And whoever flagged the OP, you seriously need to take a good look at yourself.
That’s effed up man. Come on! I can understand not agreeing on stuff but wishing harm on people is messed up. Check yourself.
My sister and her hubby had the shots and boosters both have had Covid twice each…and I have been around them…as I said I am a hermit in my home and stay that way…
the scare is over. the virus is here to stay, just like the common cold and flu.
Im NOT vaxxed, Ive had it three times and its been a sniffle, a throat tickle and a slight feeling in my lungs the last time. lol.
Evidently the shot isnt the only way to not have it bad
I hope everything keeps going well/better for you. I am not out here to judge people, its not my place.
Ive seen enough people, even families, tear each other apart over this stuff for a variety of reasons and its just sad to watch and I am not getting on that wagon, ever.
This needs a bump and I’m ashamed that OP’s post was ghosted. It doesn’t bode well for the community. Sad. China is having their largest outbreak as we speak.
a HUGE percent of the population, like 40% or more, evidently are asymptomatic.
IF the shot actually stopped the spread, we know it doesnt now and have since later 2021, then Id be far more inclined to get it.
Harvard related studies were done early on and instead of incidences being lower with large vaxxed populations more people were getting it.
And it is proven now that it doesnt stop the spread…AT ALL
so its up each person to decide if they want to risk it without the shot or not.
I’m not a guinea pig for testing. It smelled rotten from its inception. That and big pharma isn’t going to be held accountable for side effects. Major red flags.
Its his or hers right not to get it…if I had been the US Navy when that crap came out I would of been discharged cause I would of refused it flat out…I use to refuse the Flu shot for years while in finally my Chief ordered me to get it and I told him I will get sick…sure enough got the Flu shot and ended up in the Navy Hospital sick with the flu…yes I took the others shots required when I enter the US Navy but those vaccines are proven safe and stop you from getting sick…this one hasn’t been proven beyond a shadow of doubt to me…
