It’s a hot topic is all. With slings and arrows being thrown all around it. The fact of the matter is… the system in its current implementation will actively harm many players interaction with SL. Seems silly to support that implementation when you yourself have stated that you have very little buy in on it. Not trying to imply you are full-fledged supporting it, just why someone responded to you.
Sorry - I don’t mean to be aggressive.
I’m just sincerely interested in why you like the idea of restrictions when they don’t add anything tangible to your gameplay but that definitely adds negativity to many other players.
Seems like an odd thing to “like” when there’s no beneficial trade-off to you for the punishment it puts on others.
I was wondering if I was missing something - and that sparked my curiosity.
Which is why they just need to give all the abilities to all the factions and switch the aesthetic if need be. The DK extra limb can just be a light based projection thing if you are a Kyrian or a blood arm for venthyr or a tree branch for night fae. It isn’t that complicated. Just make it so you can only have one ability at a time.
I like the idea of a tauren paladin having a different ability/theme than a blood elf pally, or even two blood elves being different. It’s a bit like priest was back in vanilla. I like it from a RP/immersion way. But like I said, it could go either way, and I wouldn’t be the least bit bothered.
Oh yeah - that aspect is totally cool and something I like about the system.
The restrictions of locking people into their choice is where the big issue comes into play and puts a lot of negativity out on many players.
BLM has entered the chat.
Yeah, I get people need to perform at their best, I was just responding to another poster that felt similarly. Sometimes it’s nice to have a “conversation” with other people that feel the same, without any ulterior motive but to agree with each other. Someone said they only wished to have fun, and I agreed.
exactly. its sandbox not rpg if you just get to freely swap
In an RPG with literal “Magic”, anything goes. Those 2 things don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
This doesn’t exist or is over in the first week
I would argue that statement to be incorrect.
It exists in mythic raiding for months after release. It also lasts in arena and m+ as long as there is some kind of competition taking place, which for pvp there is always an inherent competition.
What is that 7-10th thread about it from Ralph because he still never manage to win that argument.
No it’s not a mentality problem, why is it so wrong to want to optimize/be good at what you do even if you don’t push the hardest content? That’s the disgusting mentality to blame other people because they want to get better.
Nope, for raids its over in the first week.
For m+ on the first day of the season
For characters like yours, sure.
But it matters for many other players for much longer.
For everyone lol , its a race to who does it first and you lost GG
There is no competition after that
Edit: Arena is pvp that is totally different as its not a race and can remain competitive till the season ends to get your Gladiator title and elite set
I’m an average player that has played hunter and warlock through the good times, and the bad times. I’ve never played a class because it was OP or any of the other things people play a class for. As far as covenants go I’m going to pick mine based on how the armor looks or with a 4-sided die because I really don’t care about the rest of it.
That’s only for the world first race.
The performance still matters for all arena and m+ tournaments throughout an expansion.
Mythic raiding is also more than just the world first race - the performance matters for the cutting edge achievement.
TL;DR: Entitlement. People got used to eating Burger King and having it their way, and are throwing a fit. It’s Pathfinder all over again. The community can’t handle something good being done against their will because it is at the cost of something they got used to.
Would you not be upset if you walked into Burger King and found boiled oatmeal and pickled fish to be your only choice? Even if oatmeal and fish are good for you? That sounds like “entitlement” according to your own usage of the term.
Again you are mixing Arena and M+. Not the same bro
M+ is over the first day because there is no lockout and done by ppl at the “bare minimum gear” . Marketing MDIs like the recent one only to fill Blizz pockets scamming donors doesn’t count.
In PVE if you ain’t the cherry top of the cake then you are a nobody and are just wasting more time than others. Armory means exactly that how much more time you wasted than others having fun that’s about it .
