Council member goes off. A MUST READ

Regardless of how old the automated system is, it shows the lack of care put into something as important as a report system that people are allowed to abuse the system using mass report to silence someone.
If this system is so old, then why is it still allowed to exist despite its obvious flaws?

We need less issues in the backlog, not for the backlog to be used as a storage for problems.

And it’s not like this is a new problem as of this week, it’s persisted since vanilla classic launched.

Honestly, I have thousands of posts about the server issues trying to get something changed so I know why Benediction is what it is today, but if it couldn’t be supported into Wrath it shouldn’t have been allowed to be a thing.

It’s case where it’s a partial truth, they obviously do have automated suspensions that happen and have admitted as such, it’s just not entirely driven by player reports.

If it’s one thing I hope that comes of this whole server debacle, it’s that we get some sort of faction control as well.

Okay but use your brain for once. Do you think these guys have to make an attempt to care about the classic servers like… at all? The people actually working on the game thinking about things like fixing the ilevel in ulduar.

If you turn it into a true cost benefit analysis, they could open the flood gates and start microtransactions for literally everything. And people would get mad but it wouldn’t matter cause bliz would be making money for their shareholders, who don’t care about you or your 15 dollars at all.

This same council member was the one supporting Blizzard when they were going through with changes that this council member wanted too (Ilvl, etc.).

Sorry, someone’s indignance being solely self-serving (they don’t like what’s going on with servers but are fine with everything else that Blizzard is pushing despite community backlash) is worth a lot less when they’re supposed to be representing a community and really just use gold text to represent themselves.

Maybe but if a squelch was in the game for years why not say something earlier? Why wait for it to be sensationalized by some attention-hungry streamers before even knowing it’s a thing?

Personally, I don’t think a squelch is a huge deal. Most people I’ve seen get them have been pretty vulgar in chat and they are well deserved. AS for true suspensions, those should be reviewed. I also think that false reporters should get suspensions for false reporting.

Now do I like that they have cut down on GMs etc? Absolutely not.

This is their biggest fault.

The locks they have in place now, should of been a thing when the mass exodus of players from multiple servers was happening in TBC.

I think that’s a big reason as to why people are so reluctant to leave because we’ve already left before, and look where we are now.

I kinda thought this also. I was a little, well, a lot, angry with this “member” for not bringing up and representing the majority of players with RDF. But it does appear that he has some nards. so i will clear the slate.

And thats a blizz issue for not putting a cap on them.

Oh, I agree, I’ve said the same thing hundreds of times and did in the post you replied to. Blizzard mismanaged the servers BIG TIME.

Sure has. Years to prepare. I, just like the community manage know that this problem could have been drastically lessened but Bliz would have had to spend a bit on Classic.

They dont give a damn. 3-4 hours to get in? It will be worse on Launch day. Blizzard is a shell of its former self.

The squelch issue has been complained about for years too. Ive seen where its been used in RBGs to make ppl go offline to. Therefore giving the other team an advantage.

Also not merging servers with low pop earlier.

They left it and charged everyone to fix their issues.

Blizzard’s new motto is legit “lowest effort for the most gain”

I made a thread on the CC forums about RDF, regardless of my own personal feelings about RDF (I mentioned many times that I am neither for or against RDF and am fine with both), I did bring it up.

Sure so people have known about it but the streamers talk and it’s “Wow look! Brand new news!!”

Agreed totally.

I was on the forums for over a year trying to get them to do something about server issues.

I really wish as many people were there to fight for a change to help with the servers as there have been for other things.

Granted this was a hot topic and was talked about in a lot of places so yes. Total mismanagement on Blizzards part with that.

When millions play something or do something there are bound to be a ton of idiots. That and a lot of people forget about things till it affects them or a large group of ppl in game.
