give it 6 months to 2 years (next expansion) it’ll drop drastically.
so don’t buy the tab if it’s too expensive
i bought all 4 tabs not going to buy the 5th tab i only have 3m gold left dont want to be poor i dont think they will change the cost since most of us already bought 4 to 5 tabs
I honestly don’t think I’m going to get more than 2 tabs, or 3 at the most. I’m betting that after pretty much noone buys more than 3-4 they will eventually reduce the cost.
There’s just not enough storage to make it worthwhile to sink a lot of gold into it. I have 5 (I think?) guild vaults for my stuff in addition to maxed out banks.
The warbank is just for stashing some account bound stuff and occasions where a mailbox isn’t handy and Katy is on cooldown.
1 tab is good enough , transfer your rares and gold for 1k, win.
Exactly. I already have two personal guilds (one horde/one alliance) for my alts. I’ve had them since long before there was any cross faction stuff, so I’m definitely going to keep those. The only thing I’m putting in there is warbound gear, I’m not going to put profession mats in it.
But you’re right, it’s way too much gold for way too little storage. They need to quadruple the reagant bank as is.
Ya I am definitely not giving up my guild alts. I just don’t understand what they are thinking.
Yeah… honestly blizz… this is lame. I mean if you want us to use your new feature and not just keep using personal Guild banks… then at least make them comparable and while you’re at it - refund the cost of buying the guild bank tabs in the beginning maybe?
Just bumping this to add my general agreement that the cost is kind of insulting.
My favorite activity in the game is hoarding, like my own virtual doomsday prepping, haha, and Blizz keeps making people who enjoy this activity pay. They know it’s a weakness of ours and they’re exploiting it for an unfair amount of money.
This approach most common in mobile games is pretty vile, it reminds me of EA… the very opposite of what games like BG3 are doing, which while not an MMORPG is so refreshing for players like myself.
So yeah, some shame is due to Blizzard for these costs. Whatever discussion they had to decide them, I’m pretty sure it involved sneering people and shortsighted business logic.
Yeah its really a shame that they decided only a small portion of the population gets access to the actual full warband bank… Thats not the only issue I have with the warband bank but man is that a frustrating one.
I have more then enough to buy quite a few war banks bank…but I didn’t I only brought first two tabs and that is suiting me just fine…I not wasting gold on something I really don’t need now…I have gotten along with my private guild banks and my AH/bank toon to take care of stuff.
Thats part of the thing though. The idea was supposed to supplant guild banks being used like they are as player banks. This system doesn’t hit that at all because they put random blocks to the average person who might actually use it.
Not to mention continuing to stymie a players ability to manage resources by including “quality” into the crafting components without adequate ways to store it for use easily amongst our characters.
I wish the Warband Bank had had a dedicated tab for all resources and that our “upgrades” that cost money on that level that the tabs cost was to increase the capacity of that storage rather than what they went with. A neutered guild bank with only one extra benefit of being easy to shift between your characters.
The system could have been so much better with little effort. Its just disappointing that this is the best Blizzard of all people could figure.
Also ALL damned loot should be Warband transferable… not some random once a week or so item if you’re lucky.
I am simply too cheap to ever buy the final tab. I mean after all these years of playing WoW and never really playing the AH, I could never see myself making such a large investment.
If you use something like Arkinventory, the warbank is sorted into separate boxes that you can customize. It’s still having issues grouping “same item, different rank” but it’s easy to find things.
I had 2m so bought the 4th tab a month ago or so…and back to 2m again. Gold comes easy, even without buying tokens or selling anything on the AH.
The convenience of the warbank is worth it.
Its not really that though. I can sort things just fine and honestly the ingame sort while extremely basic isn’t that much of an issue. The issue is over time as Blizzard adds more and more resources, space will compound as an issue. They need, and have more or less claimed, to address this but the Warband Bank which was supposed to isn’t going to do anything for it and even less so because it ends up costing the average player too much to be used in the first place.
I have three tabs right now (I could get a fourth but thats a lot of money for something that was designed with little use) and none of it is useful compared to just have a few Guild Banks to do its job. The only benefit is being able to trade much easier between alts and even that is hamstrung by the lack of available space for resources and how pitiful the warband equipment turned out to be.
For some sure. For the average player a million gold is a hell of a lot. Not everyone plays the same and the need for space though ends up being nearly the same for the majority of players. The warband bank has failed in its prescribed goals for the most part.
I disagree. Its not worth its cost. It is worth its general utility but that is so much less than it should have been. Its a far cry from what it should honestly have been given Blizzards stated goals for it.
They want you to buy WoW tokens to get the gold for a tab… oh.
Yeah, I bought 3 tabs to start and I use 1 of them to store all of the current expansion crafting mats that my characters use. The other two are pretty much untouched, so I haven’t needed to buy more.
Which is great for you!
But to lock off what was supposed to be, by Blizzards own goal for it, a player convenience behind a paywall well beyond any normal players available funds…?
This should have been a utility not a gold sink. Many people literally go for Guild Banks because the cost of them is relatively low and it allows them to store and shift gear, goods and such around between their characters. Why make this one that was supposed to be that but better cost magnitudes more than that? How does that reduce the Guild Bank spam? How does that help the average player? Where is the convenience? How are they going to make it last into the future if all expansions going forwards continue to add at least 3 levels of each individual resource?
It was poorly executed and then locked off for the majority of players to fully utilize.
Back when guild banks were released, the last few bank tabs were incredibly expensive and often only acquired if a guild had many people contributing to the fund. The prices just haven’t gone up over many expansions, so now it’s low compared the amount of gold we make due to inflation.
This was clearly designed as another gold sink for convenience, and the prices aren’t that bad if you compared guild bank costs to the TBC economy. Remember how much 5k gold was and how many players complained about the cost of epic flying and never got it? Now drop 20k for a single bank tab.
Now 20k is nothing of course, but that wasn’t the case 17 years ago. The average player can get 2-3 bank tabs if they choose. The first is essentially free and the second one is pretty cheap given how much gold we make these days.
