These days that’s the same thing.
Even “casual” dad guilds are parsing and requiring consumes.
Yes, the GDKP ban has proven to hurt the community overall. It has done absolutely nothing to curtail RMT and had just made things harder for the average raider.
It’s stupid.
Banning GDKP allows Blizzard to keep profitting off bot subs while we pay the price.
No, it isn’t.
Lol, no. That’s simply not true.
Yeah I’m pretty sure people aren’t buying 10k gold at a time anymore to run GDKPs to be full BiS in a few weeks. I’d say gold buying is far less common than it was in 2019 right now simply because they removed the LARGEST reason to buy gold.
You are kidding yourself if you think 80% of all GDKPs bids weren’t funded by bought gold in 2019.
Typical discord chatter during bidding was “Damn dude just payed $XXX for that” not “damn dude just payed 10k gold for that”. Don’t believe me? Go look up youtube videos of Jokerd’s GDKPs or heck any other streamer for that matter.
RMT is more prevalent than ever on Anniversary so clearly the ban didn’t work.
Without having any statistical data since neither Blizzard nor RMTers would ever provide it. I can whole heartly say without a doubt in my mind gold sales are down. I would even go so far as to guess they are 2000% lower than they were in 2019 without having GDKPs now. Does RMT still exist? without a doubt it does, but it is absolutely no where near what it was back then. To claim that it is more prevalent now? Or that the GDKP ban didn’t reduce it is just silly and a poor attempt at gas lighting Blizzard into lifting a Ban on something that was a Net positive to ban.
And how exactly can you say say that “without a doubt” without any data to back it up?
Wow that sure sounds like a legit non made up number!
Try to re-read it. However trying to take a select portion of that sentence to gaslight seems right up your alley.
it writes itself really
If you think rmt is up because of boosting and people buying consumes / pre bis.
Could you imagine the state of RMT if every boss drop could be paid for with gold?
Sounds to me like he’s comparing his takes with every pro gdkper take. If they can throw out random numbers, why can’t he?
not much point in having a discussion over it, no one knows, it would be foolish to even start, fictional numbers based off of vibes and if a guy they saw had edgemasters is really boring
This is a forum, discussion is literally the purpose. What you’re saying is you can only call out 1 sides gaslighting?
If you think not having statistical data can keep someone from coming to a rational conclusion you should rethink.
If you think someone buying… lets say 1k gold for a month of raid consumes, or a boost, or a mount is equivalent to people buying 10-50k gold for raid items isn’t a decrease in RMT sales then maybe math wasn’t your strong suit.

buying 10-50k gold for raid items
lets just make up numbers to suit my argument
There were 100k+ gressils in 2019 classic

lets just make up numbers to suit my argument
youtube, GDKPs are all over with 200k+ splits and typically most of that was only on 2-3 big items dropping.
there was one that we know of, which is why 260 videos were made about this specific singular gressil, and that’s why its brought up in every thread
are we going to pretend the average gdkp has a 200k pot or?

are we going to pretend the average gdkp has a 200k pot or?
We seem to be pretending GDKPs weren’t the biggest fuel for RMT? The average big ticket item in most GDKPs went for 10k+ hell most GDKPs minimum bid on big ticket items was set to 5k and tier set to 1k minimum.
