Either you have fun playing or you don’t, if you don’t then one more potion, flask, or whatever isn’t going to change how you feel fundamentally as it is an incremental bonus. If your class, character, equipment, guild etc aren’t enough to fill the hole more buffs won’t get you there.
The real question is if you are aware of how you feel or are just trying to get to some laid out point on a map that you’ve been told will make you feel that way or need some outside source to tell you that you did good based on whatever metrics.
If everything has to go just right for you to give yourself permission to be happy with yourself you are in for a rough ride.
And if you are trying to comfort yourself because you died in HC (aka very very careful mode) keep in mind that is a feature of HC that you signed up for, its like being upset that you died in PVP.
Don’t think that what everyone else is doing is going to work for you, you aren’t everybody else and don’t forget everybody else is stupid (mob mentality, herd behavior, individual perspectives have more depth, personally meaningful behavior)
Ofcourse this could just be a post to promote spending money on consumes as necessary because gold sellers are invested and not backing off just because black lotus isn’t as big a deal now.
Are you soloing DME jump runs on a single character in pre-raid gear? Because that’s what most are working with, or are you multi boxing with 2-3 accounts, which most people will not be working with?
You can clear this joke MC with bunch of blue gear ppl n 0 consum or WBs. It will just take 2 hours mb instead of 45 mins. 500 gold to save 1 hour sounds stupid.
so ur trying to tell us that for the average sr run player, the run costs more than 263g because it takes 1 hour and not 40 minutes? oh boy, if you’ll believe that, you’ll believe anything
if your run takes 40 minutes, the only cost cutting you’ll be doing is on ony & dmt, you’ll have to recap rend anyway, which is the only cost you have posted in relation to world buffs
On a side note, 40 minutes is way way too long for that level of effort
I also believe you are fudging the numbers, i find it very unlikely you are using 6 gfpps and 6 lips per week, nor 20 bandages, nor 10 food
Ah, shifting the goalposts again, Mr. Redditor. You all threw a massive fit demanding GDKPs be banned because you couldn’t keep up and hated being penalized for playing like garbage. Your entire argument was: ‘Banning GDKPs will stop bots and gold buying!’ We told you gold buying would only get worse—now, instead of a few whales swiping for BiS in GDKPs, the majority of the player base is forced to swipe just to afford their weekly consumes. Again, your idealized solution is irrelevant. Gold buying has never been this bad, and the cost of consumes are already out of control. So, I ask you, did banning GDKP’s really help with bots & Gold selling/buying?
To top it off, PUG raids are significantly worse, HR meta is the norm, and any incentive to play an alt is dead. But instead of admitting you were wrong, you pivot to ‘just don’t use consumables, bro.’
MC being easy doesn’t matter…raiding with consumables and world buffs makes the game more fun. Your brilliant solution? ‘Just have less fun and raid in a worse environment.’ Sounds like you’d fit in perfectly at Blizzard, somebody get this guy a job and a $50k salary ASAP. Oh and, by the time AQ40 and Naxx hit, consumes will cost 500g+ per week. ‘Just don’t use them there either!’ Sure, enjoy your 4-hour wipefests. Pathetic mindset. Cope. Seethe.
Even for players that want to parse, you simply don’t need that much, and you can probably purple parse simply knowing your rotation fight mechanics and not need even a third of those consumes, and likely the cheaper ones assuming you have basic world buffs. Going all out like that really doesn’t save that much time. I mean the only time anyone in my guilds ever went to that extreme was when the DMF buff was up and we occasionally did a parse/speed run, but that simply wasn’t the norm of any guild I have ever been in.
But if your signing up for speed running especially on two characters, thats kind of what you committing to, personally I find guilds that have a bit more reasonable expectations, and normal clear times a bit more fun, but everyone has to make their own choices.
That’s your problem. You should have leveled a gold making class for your 2nd character like a mage or hunter. And get yourself an herbalist if you don’t have one.
For a 90+ you would likely need some limited consumes and buffs and decent gear, but you could probably parse green/blue without buffs in blues, if you were in a good guild, but you would really have to have your rotation down and have good cooldown management.
