It baffles me how all of this was not seem in the development stages of the system, its blatant that all this that was nerfed would be overpowered since conception, you just need a glance at the effects to notice this.
And before people say: But they could not see how people would combine their gear. You dont even need to combine gear for that , one effect alone is already powerfull enough to turn the table on anything, its obvious.
Now people that spent hours farming , or even worse, spent millions of gold to buy BoE peaces will have all their effort down the drain.
If the problem is the imbalance on pvp , simply disable all corruption effects on pvp, blizzard have over and over again showed that they can do something like that, when they disabled legendaries effects on pvp back in legion.
This is ridiculous.
Pretty sure a 3rd grader could do a better job at number tuning in this game across the board. Where are our spec tuning changes also? Also obviously it’s not ok and they don’t care about the people who wasted money on tokens or spent potentially millions of gold on corrupted gear.

hey look, a company that still doesn’t understand their own game. people like going after BiS pieces, since you made that impossible they have to go after “near BiS” pieces, they finally acquire them and then you nerf them. essentially taking a dump on the people putting the most effort into your game.
either release stuff like this already tuned to your liking, or release it and live with the results at least until progress is finished so as to not screw your playerbase over.

That’s not agency. That’s a low bar mini game that you shouldn’t accept as choice.
Agency would be choosing the effects and accepting the negatives that come with. Not trying to balance rng after the fact.

I mean, some people might want to get a set of leech tertiary + T3 leech corrupted gear for the memes.
Who wouldn’t want to run around with ~70% leech?
(Granted, I think the corruption cost for said leech corrupted gear is kinda steep…)
And that’s a huge community of people, right?
How about there were 3 demographics: this one…
Raiders who got upset somebody was getting something they didn’t deserve, while they themselves thought they deserved a lot better than what they were getting.
Also there were raiders who were fine with people who do LFR and an occasional low key getting an occasional upgrade.
And there were people who would continue to do casual content that nominally was going to give the same loot, because it might give a small upgrade. +25 upgrades were really rare. Maybe you’re thinking of your weekly m+ chest?
That last group is playing less now. They’re kind of the majority.
Was it really a good thing to disincentivize playing the game for the majority by removing their reason to play content?

When this system was announced I thought, well this will be a good thing to sit back and revel in the chaos that ensues. Apparently I was right because I can do basic math.

In the realm of badly itemized corruption gear: I pulled a ring with a +5% leech that is +28 corruption. Talk about the penalty far outweighing the benefit…
It will be unfortunate when they nerf a trait then people deem it not worth the corruption cost and cleanse it. Skip forward to the next round of tuning and see it has become valuable again and be out of luck cause the effect is gone.
only an idiot would cleanse any corruption so early.

It’s like they looked at the Legion legendary system and tried to come up with an even worse version. At least Legion legendaries could be crossed off as you got them.

That’s undoubtedly going to happen. I’m sure there are already people who have regretted cleansing an item to keep the iLvl gain and slot something else more beneficial…only to see that other trait nerfed hard (like IS for ST, which is the only place it shines). The EV nerf is going hit a lot of people, and is - in fact - likely to affect the current world first race (not that a lot of people here care).
Yep, that would be the best solution. Having to get a lucky drop 3 times in order to use the trait at the power they are balancing it for is stupid.
