Text in various locations (quests, buttons, character select, in-game videos) shows as corrupted. It appears that a letter is being replaced by either an image or multiple letters. This has been happening since patch 11.1.7. Tried a scan and repair, did not fix the issue. Disabled, then deleted all add-ons, did not fix. Followed these instructions https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000007549 - provided from a support ticket, which also did not fix the issue.

This is also affecting me as of today’s MoP patch (build 62044). I’ve found that /reload seems to sort it out, in that text that was corrupt becomes readable… but it’s not a permanent solution because other text can still subsequently become corrupt.

Bumping this again, because a month later it’s still not fixed.
Reloaded entire game and still have this problem. Sent in the bug report multiple times and still no response.
I have this same thing happening on my Intel Mac. Different characters are gibberish, it changes depending on what window contains the text. One time it may be the “V” character getting corrupted, next time it is the “Q”, next the “7”. It seems to rotate, upon a restart. I have done various thing to fix, up to and including a reinstall, still an issue. While it is not really hurting my game play, it is awfully annoying and a distraction.

Yeah, it’s still an issue and annoying. The only thing I can do is /reload to force it to be a different character that is maybe less used than others in game text. I’m not a fan of trying to guess if that’s a 5 or a 7, but if it’s the Q, I can get around that one easier.
If this were an increasingly common problem on the Mac, I guess we would all have to upgrade our machines, or grin and bear it in silence. But as we all likely know, it’s not a common problem. I work with graphics applications and use literally hundreds of fonts — but WoW is the ONLY app I’ve ever had this problem with. Thing is, Blizzard is owned by Microsoft. Do we really expect them to lift a finger to fix a problem on Macs? Their thinking is probably that we should be grateful WoW even still runs on Macs.
Still an issue after Midnight pre-patch (1/21/2026). Only happening on my Intel Mac, and only within WOW. No other applications have this issue.
