I’m on an intel Mac (still) and on 13.7.6.

I’m having the same problem. I’m seeing this on the character select screen and in game. The corrupt characters are not always the same. This would indicate it isn’t just a bad texture on the drive.

I moved my Cache, Interface, and WTF folders into a different folder and that didn’t fix the problem.

I upgraded to the latest version of macOS Ventura and that didn’t fix the problem.

Same issue
Seems mostly present on time remaining for WQ and score in BGs
Time will sorta display like this:
“1♒️ hours remaining”

Same issue. Corrupted text in game. Running on macOS Monterey V 12.7.6. iMac Retina 5k late 2015, 4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, memory- 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3, graphics- AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4GB.
This issue started Tuesday 6/17/25 with patch launch. I’m not a coder, but maybe a missing line of code? It’s just minor, but annoying. Anyone at Blizz, plz help!

Having the same issue. It’s all over the screen in various text and moves to different text throughout game play. Started happening after patch to 11.1.7. Running on macOS Sequoia 15.5. I did run a scan and repair, didn’t fix it though.

I found a solution. I went into game options> graphics> resolution. I changed from default (mine was 5120x2880) to 3200 x 1800. I can now play with resolution set to 100%, no more corrupted in game text! Also, my frame rate is a bit higher.

My resolution is also set to 5120x2880. I tried lowering it, but it does not fix the issue. In fairness, even if it did, I would’t call it a fix because I’d rather have my resolution higher and this wasn’t happening before patch 11.1.7.

Same problem, I noticed it on B and Ws in the closed caption text in cinematics.

I opened a support ticket and was told to submit a bug request. Here is the link if anyone wants to comment or add screenshots.

Adding my voice to the choir! I started experiencing the same thing starting with patch 11.1.7 on my iMac which is an older Intel 2017 model I recently upgraded to Ventura 13.7.6 so figured maybe there was some incompatibility but then found this thread. Clearly there is some kind of bug.

It’s really annoying cause it’s always a different character each time I play that’s bugged out. I haven’t found a way around it; turning off add ons doesn’t work, repairing doesn’t work, change resolution doesn’t work. Hope there’s a fix for it soon!

Yea, the letters have been shifting.

I noticed the : was getting scrambled recently.

Update: text still appears corrupted even when lowering resolution. Please someone at Blizz fix!

This is still an issue after maintenance done this week (July 1, 2025).

Not sure how this works, but I’m guessing since no one is replying to the Bug Report - that Blizzard told me to open - or talking about it in general, it probably won’t get Blizzard’s attention for them to fix it.

I did test this on my wife’s M2 machine and there was no distortion. On my intel I7 I had the distortion. I’m thinking it’s an Intel Mac issues and that would not surprise me seeing the push for phasing out the Intel Mac’s is on.

I think it’s safe to say, that if an issue exists on Intel Macs, but doesn’t exist on Apple Silicon Macs, then it’s not getting “fixed”.

We have tried login in a 2019 intel iMac computer running mac OS 15.5 and we also encountered this corrupted text bug. So, this is not occurring only on 13.7.6, but apparently on all intel macs after patch 11.1.7.
But on my iMac running 13.7.6 I’ve noticed an increase on graphic crashes, starting with a beachball of death followed by a red screen, and having to force quit WoW.

Got a new MacBook Air with M4 chip this week and the corrupted text is not an issue, but it is still an issue on my 2020 iMac with Intel. I guess we all found the commonality, but I’m not replacing the iMac just to fix it.

It seems like you already have.

With the “DEAD END” sign finally visible on the Intel Mac roadmap, it’ll happen in a few years one way or another.
