I have been trying to get them to change it for years now. Moderation is poor or inconsistent on the best days. WoW is even worse with the individual chars being treated separately. It just magnifies the issues.
I think they will eventually make some sort of changes, but the wheels turn very very slowly and none of my contacts have the power to pull the switch on it.
It would take mgt approval, funding, and a contract with Discourse to modify the forum software again - to remove what they did the first time. They also need to figure out what sort of char identity we should still have (avatar and char name in forum display?) That would have to be custom coded, although the select avatar functionality already exists on all other Blizz forums.
The whole thing greatly frustrates me. I also want increased funding and staffing for forum moderation if they are going to keep having forums. I can’t make that happen either.

Immortal does not even have a Blizzard Discussion forum. They warned us months ago about that…and did in fact select Reddit for discussion instead. Something they don’t have to pay for, maintain, or moderate.

Create a new thread every week as a sign of protest on the WoW CC sub-forum so they know you mean business.
Just make minimum posting level for this forum be 50 and lock classic toons out.
This will curb a vast majority of the trolling. The rest could be solved by the mods recognizing patterns of behavior that bring about troll threads.

Last thing we need is forum trolls able to harass posters regardless of what toon they post on.
I post on this toon because I no longer play it, and I don’t have to worry about trolls bugging me in game.
Takes almost no time to get to 50 and many people have multiple alts. It still does not solve the issue of Trust Levels being wiped clean.
What do you mean? BattleTag is not RealID. They cannot find your alts either.
I do find it interesting that I see a lot of complaints against this idea from classic toons…
Not to mention some would happily drop some cash on a boost to be able to continue to sockpuppet/troll.

It takes some time to get from 1-50. At least a few hours.
My experience with discord is making trolls wait ten minutes before they can post or see anything often deters them. They get bored.
Yeah, but many people already have many alts that are leveled up.
I have 9 level 60s, and several more level 50s already.
