Continuation of New Customisation Options for: Void Elves, Blood Elves, & misc high elves

Hopefully they learn from this expac that spending too much time on systems is a waste of time.

Give me a game where you level up, run dungeons, raids, etc, and have a story behind some legendary and fun content to do outside of gearing.

From your mouth to the devs ears! Seriously! “Systems” is a dirty word in my eyes now.

I think players would of taken it much better if they had just been honest. Hey sorry but we are way behind and cannot spare the art team for customizations at this time. If possible we will try and deliver some customizations in future patches. Then if they were able to do a few small thing that would be great but players wouldn’t be expecting it.

I agree. We’re I making the call, I would have went with honesty (and maybe garnish it with some exaggerated disappointment) to garner sympathy instead of the spin we got that caused outrage.

I just gave up expecting better from the company at this point the only reason I am still playing is the expansion was bought for me and I feel I have some obligation to do some of it since they spent money gifting it. Beyond that the cold empty tone and the fact they just ignored years of feed back was too much.

they had a whole reddit about custimzations they have now buried so unless you have the link good luck trying to find it. And they just openly ignored all the feed back here.

That’s completely understandable. I’m currently still playing because I am actually interested in seeing where the story goes… even though I probably won’t see what comes next until June. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m also still scraping anima together for my covenant upgrades/cosmetics. Everything still feels so out of reach though.

But the story, the covenant armor sets, and the mega-dungeon are the only interesting parts of 9.1 for me right now. I don’t care about more soulbind rows, conduits, or Torghast wings at this point. The next raid’s only value to me is the story elements… which I’ll have to wait months after 9.1 launches to see via LFR since I don’t do regular raiding anymore.

What I want most for Blood Elves and Night Elves is Dark Ranger options.

Blood Elves:

  • Dark Ranger options (Red eyes and undead skin as the minimum, tear marks, bluish undead skin like Sylvanas had, and red eyes with black sclera for the maximum.)
  • Damaged ears
  • Makeup
  • Tattoos (Mage and Farstrider)
  • Scars
  • Shared hairstyles between all the elves
  • More Beards for men
  • Jewelry for men
  • More hairstyles for me

Forsaken:

  • Patchwork skin with visible stitching
  • Skull faces
  • Normal hair styles
  • Scars
  • Beards
  • Upright posture
  • Jawless option for females
  • Tattoos
  • Dark Ranger toggle if Blizzard prefers it.
  • Jewelry

The Core races and the allied races based on them should share certain customization options. Blood Elves should get de-tentacled void elf hair styles. Void elves should get ear types. Tauren should share hairstyles and horn styles with HMT. Night Elves should share some of their hairstyles and skintones with Nightborne. Nightborne need more hair colors and more faces among a lot of other fixes.

Orcs should share hairstyles with Maghar. Where it makes sense, elves should share all of their hairstyles with each other. Humans should share hairstyles with Forsaken. Really sharing hairstyles and other options between races, again where it makes sense, would make a lot of people happier.

Asian and African American face types should actually look how they were presented last Blizzcon. What happened to eye shapes? Plus the cornrows could use a minor fix.

Then there are perfectly useable options available only to NPCs that could, with little time and effort, be added as player options. Dark Ranger options and Cult of Damned tattoos come to mind as examples. Even this kind of thing would go a long way

I could understand if the reason for no more customization after it was promised and advertised for Shadowlands was Covid and running behind, but they never said that. The manner in which they replied to us was lacking, as it customization isn’t something that matters to many. It’s not just the news, but how it’s conveyed.

You don’t ride up to someone on a unicycle with underpants over your head wearing a tutu and go “Your grandma’s wormchow. LOL” and then maniacally laugh as you ride away to tell someone their grandmother has passed. It’s dismissive and a meanspirited. Then constantly be told we’re acting like babies, we’re spoiled, being trolled and ignored by Blizzard (who is currently suppressing threads related to airing their grievances with no more customization on their subreddit) and at times being told to off ourselves makes this situation much worse.

Orcs still need Dragonmaw and Blackrock skins (seriously, who at Blizzard thought adding three new shades of green was a good idea everyone asked for Dragonmaw and Blackrock stuff), eyebrows and dreadlocks.

Oh yeah and they need to fix the horrible 2d piercings Mag’har have.

And the extremely low res scars, I can literally count the pixels on them.

We here at Blizzard look forward to hearing what you the player want.

We here at Blizzard have heard your request. So we proudly present you with the rings and anklets you were asking for. These come in two colors as well, no need to thank us. We are always looking to the community for ideas.

Do not worry orc fan we here at Blizzard have heard your request. So you now have the option to play a mottled green Orc, a plaid green Orc or a green Orc with green spots. As for eyebrows and dreadlocks we have no plans for them currently but might think of adding them in future patches.

So keep those suggestions coming in…

Can we just get them off WoD-era skins altogether? Is that such a big ask really?

I laughed. Then I cried.

The team is discussing it.

I just don’t get how they’re so aggressively lazy they go full circle.

The new skin tones were more effort than just turning the NPC-only switch on a number of options.

I will say, I do like the new skins we got, I use the pale one on several of my characters.

But for real, who seriously asked for them? Basically nobody, while Dragonmaw and Blackrock skins were easily one of the largest requests by orc players (YMMV but they were by far the largest request I saw and were my personal largest by several landmarks). It would’ve been significantly less work to just enable those and ez a ton of orc players are very happy and even non-orcs are happy because Blackrock and Dragonmaw objectively look extremely cool.

Well this thread is basically dead now since there won’t be any more customizations.

Void options I got so far:

Chin tentacles!
Hair Tentacles as in all the hair is tentacles.
Tentacles for a mouth.
Starcursed, and n’zoth eye color.
Ethereal type wraps.
Scars that show void energy beneath the wound.
Stark White and Void Black, violets, maroon, teals, blues, near neon orange and yellows, and Void(like their tentacles), and Starcursed hair colors.
Two tone hair color starting as a void color turning into a neon color.
Void fire effects to the hair.
Shadowy gas effects.
Third eye like Aszhara.
Void mouths and other old god corruptions.
Tentacle toggle.
Standard scars.
Ear slider.
Claws.
Tattoos. Void and farstrider.

Some Ethereal Wraps provided by Somand

And some voidified tentacles and stomach mouth provided by Lance! (Affectionately called Voidberg.)

Where’s the Fel Orcs and Mok’thanal Orcs? I wanna see these added to the Orcish Customization Options.

Mok’nathal should be their own race imo.

I agree with that. Especially since Rexxar has a somewhat unique model. (based off Kul’tirans)
