I’d rather that Mok’nathal be added as a subrace to orcs along with green/fel/Mag’har orcs, like so
This is mostly because one of my two main characters is a Mok’nathal and I’d be peeved if I had to pay for a race change while a subrace system would ideally let me switch at the barber shop.
It’s also because I’d like for Mok’nathal and all 3 proposed orc subraces to be able to switch between the current orc model and the proposed Mok’nathal model, mostly because I have a pipe dream of playing a giant orc. https://i.imgur.com/T6trrBS.png
Seriously, could you imagine a fel orc with that model and size, deep red skin and giant body spikes all included?
I got one too, gonna update it someday… I got a lot of bookmarked posts with great ideas I’d like to add, someday I’ll add them… when work isn’t so overbearing and if my subscription is still active anyways.

I think every race should get tattoo or warpaint options. Gnomes/goblins could get gear and cog options for example. Gnomes could use some happier faces as well, they all are sad, tired, or angry.
So since someone has clearly been paying attention to my orc posts, I figured I’d go ahead an make a post I’ve been wanting to for a while containing every single idea and pipe dream that I have for orcs down to the very last grain of dust, that way you can scavenge whatever you want from it and also realize why orcs are easily one of the coolest races Blizzard has made.
To start, I’d want them to implement a sub-race system like such: https://i.ibb.co/CtQ5FKP/subrace-customization-mockup-foresttroll.jpg
I would want orcs to have four options that you could switch between at the barber shop; Mag’har, fel, normal, and Mok’nathal. These sub-races would all have stuff like voicelines that could be used on any of the other four (imagine being a green orc with Mag’har voice acting) with certain things changed to be more appropriate, like Mag’har not joking about how hard it is to be green. Diversity in things like class options and racials would also be a thing but should be restricted by sub-race, rather than be interchangeable like voicelines.
I would like all four variants of orcs to be able to switch between 3 models; the current orc model, a larger model very frequently proposed for Mok’nathal, and the dire orc model (made friendly for players, of course), with all models having skin tones and other features like fel orc body spikes supported for whatever sub-race is using them
In the case of males, make all current styles have two versions; one with a receding hairline for those freaks who want to use it and one that looks normal
Separate tattoos and war paint from skins and made them a separate option only useable by certain skins (creation screen QoL thing)
Clan specific features
Blackrock rock growths and smithing scars (WoD announcement cinematic showed off some smithing scars and rock growths are already used a bit on the player skin, but some diversity in how they look would be nice)
Burning Blade tattoos/markings that are actually on fire
Gouged/cut out eyes and glowing orange-white tattoos for the Bleeding Hollow (those tattoos were also in the WoD announcement cinematic)
Gruesome jewelry for the Bonechewer, stuff like bones, tendons, flesh, etc.
Laughing Skull skull/bone jewelry (more than just masks)
Shattered Hand piercings (some of their WoD NPCs used vials as piercings, for example)
Shadowmoon astral eyes and jewelry
Blue warpaint for the Frostwolf (also in the WoD announcement cinematic)
(All of this could be expanded to green/fel orcs as well, but it’s most impactful and makes most sense for Mag’har)
Demonic tattoos, heavily corrupted limbs or facial features, glowing fel eyes (imo, fel orcs should be locked into using glowing green/red eyes, maybe purple) as can all be seen here
Voicelines
Unique, fel orc only voiceline option(s) that sound more fel corrupted
For Mok'nathal
Various skins tones instead of just 2-3 beige ones, some more grey, brown, and green skin tones to represent the half orc part of them, and more blue, red, and yellow skin tones for the half ogre part.
Some animal related features, like pelt and/or bone jewelry
Faces that look more ogre or orc specific in nature and faces that look like more of a mix of ogre and orc
An option to have a single horn and some non-fel body spikes like some ogres do
Some extra more ogre looking options for ear styles
Split body/face paint as was done for regular tauren
More paint styles and jewelry not shared with regular tauren that make use of the different IRL inspirations for HMT
Large antlers for females
Expanded antler decorations like feathers, at the moment all we have is horn markings and some feathers at the bottom on one or two antler styles
The sub-race system as shown above I think would be particularly good for tauren as well, with Kalimdor tauren, Highmountain tauren, and taunka being the sub-races. I personally would also really love if Blizzard decided to make a tribe of yaungol join up with the Horde and made yaungol playable as a sub-race as well through said tribe.
The female gnomes use to have a cute face option too, but now it’s all the same angry/sassy bug-eyed look with the WoD model update imo…
I really don’t like what they did with night elf female faces and the males necks either.
The update didn’t feel like a “update” for a few of the races so much as a…
re-imagining of what the races would look like if designed with modern game industry ideas of beauty in mind.
Thankfully most of the updates were just that, updates. and humans look good without a mustache now, but for nightborne the writing was really on the wall wasn’t it?
what were they thinking.
From what we saw other day asking for any customizations is clearly too much which is BS because a lot of races still need more customizations and Nightborne need a complete rework but it’s whatever.
Also I understand your pain because I eventually changed my Blood Elf and Night Elf male Demon Hunters to females since I can’t use the jewelry and stuff on them and made them more dressed it was depressing. Lol.
It worked well within Warcraft 3 Reforged when you see the Blademaster hero doing just fine with the armor on with some spikes in terms of Fel Orcs that is.
Hey I’m still waiting for Gazlowe and Rokhan to get models. They were relatively major characters in WC3 and are faction leaders but still look like goobers walking around in Cata mogs.
