Continuation of New Customisation Options for: Void Elves, Blood Elves, & misc high elves

At the very least, I think the next wave of new customization options are at least two expansions away, maybe later on in the next expansion.

I have no reason at all to think 10.0 will add new customization options for current races.

Iā€™m pretty sure they didnā€™t lie.
From my memory they said theyā€™d consider it but werenā€™t making more plans for this expansion.

I could have sworn I read a Polygon article where they said that more would be coming this expansion, but I could be wrong.

A specific quote from one interview said:

Yes, I think that we see this initiative as an ongoing one. Itā€™s a platform upon which we can continue to build and add. Weā€™ve already heard tons of requests and feedback on existing customizations and things people would love to see. And while we, of course, canā€™t get to everything in the limited time we have, that doesnā€™t stop as soon as Shadowlands is out. Itā€™s a process that will continue. There are other races you want to give attention to, and then continue to revisit just the general space of letting people express themselves as their avatars with the greatest diversity possible in the game world.

Admittedly thatā€™s just one interview, and thereā€™s room for interpretation, but it did kind of imply that weā€™d see more race customization options added at some point during the course of Shadowlands.

With that said, while they have now said they have no plans for more customization during Shadowlands, plans can change. Though given how far behind they seem to be, that doesnā€™t seem likely unless the artists can catch up on the backlog they obviously seem to have.

After Blizzconlineā€™s disappointing announcement regarding customization options, if nothing changes in the interim, the best we can hope for right now is more options in 10.0 pre-patch, and even that isnā€™t guaranteed.

Itā€™s a real shame too. I had seen the community this excited for something in a long time. The fact that itā€™s all gone now makes me sad.

Did you see the Void concept above?

What exists now allowing for HE RP options, but future stuff whether it be Azshara like eyes or more void features, thatā€™s what I hope for in the future for them specifically.

Other races needing work first be it lackluster core races / ARs being more obvious and self explanatory.

I will say it is no surprise to anyone I was let down with no undead Elf variant some time ago but I came to terms with it, but the terminology of ongoing I did truly think weā€™d at least see some expanded skin tones for diversity that they just added, 14 BE skin tone options and we get 4 that are darker, 2 olive/medium and 2 at the darkest end of the spectrum.

I would have again at bare minimum just have expected that to be expanded on for like something between option 10 and 11, 11 and 12, 13 and 14 and so on to add some of the undertone variety that the first 10 options see.

All in all I think I came to terms with everything a while ago so Iā€™m kind of unphased, like the fact they couldnā€™t even unlock accessories for both player models was a red flag the customization requests were a long uphill battle, but I am disappointed in this specific situation I just listed above.

Hopefully addressed at a later date of course.

I hope it does get addressed as well. I was hoping those of you on the Horde side were going to get some love for the Nightbourne, and also a second theme for Belvs. Other races like Gnomes, and Trolls also needed some work still. Anyway Iā€™m saddened by the fact that us Allaince Velvs got the second theme that we wanted, but they gave yā€™all nothing. I wanted the Belf playerbase to be just as happy as us Velf/Helf players are. The most sad part was I actually had faith that Blizzard would not let us down, but thatā€™s exactly what they did.

They really need to at least add the ear sizes for Void Elves, and tail sizes for Lightforged Draenei.
Since their counterparts of Blood Elves and regular Draenei already have these, it just seems like a severe oversight not to have those same options for their allied race counterparts.

Lol, itā€™s funny to return to this thread and see how strongly someone will push for Blood Elves to become neutral since they know they arenā€™t going to get what they want as Void Elves now. :joy: :joy: :joy:

Customization wishlist? Think Iā€™ll focus on the allied races so they can remain relevant. Here goooooes.

cracks knuckles

Void elves (controversial start)
I would like to see both more high elf features AND voidy features for them, like natural hair colors NOT taken from the blood elves (humans dwarves AND gnomes have these colors) as well as natural NOT anime blood elf hair styles (less hair gel then Like half the blood elf hair styles) and some actual full beards for the males. Also perhaps some Alleria style tattoos. As for voidy? Letā€™s go all in, like for every natural hair style thereā€™s a void equivalent (braided pigtails for natural and void tendril tails for voidy) fel we could even go with a tendril topknot and beard braid. Also old god like eyes to counter balance the blue and purple. Also also the ear option blood elves have on the grounds that it makes no sense NOT to have em.
Edit: give the females their /whoa, /oops, /taunt, and /doom already.

Dark Iron
In short, I want more hair styles and beard options, as well as some full body tattoos (maybe even some magma infused ones).

Lightforged
Aside from more styles? Tail options . . . seriously, where be they Blizz?
Edit: also fix their bloody voices lines! The females /roar and /forthealliance is the regular draenei one, you fixed it before the pre patch, the funkwaggle happened!?!

Kul Tiran
Some new hair styles and beard types, along side some nautical themed body and face tattoos. Also an actual ginger option.

Mechagnomes
Some hair and beard styles sure but Iā€™d really like to see some limb customization as well, fell let us choose how many limbs we want cyberized (maybe force atleast ONE limb just so they can remain different I guess).

Magā€™har
Yea I want some new styles of hair and beard as well as body tattoos but more then that . . . I want some blue frost wolf eyes, seriously why is it only alternate universe Draenei hating female warrior Goā€™el thrall gets to be the only one allowed to have them huh? HUH?!?!

Nightborne
New hair styles for sure, but letā€™s give em some new face options and eye colors as well! Really apart from them being a creature model the major difference between player nightborne and npc nightborne is their faces. Throw in some blue, silver, and green eyes and the ear size thing and weā€™re golden. (No golden eyes though.)
Edit: give them their /whoa, /oops, /taunt, and /doom already

Highmountain Tauren
New hair styles, chin braid beards, and tattoos. Also more antler options and skin colors.

Zandalari Trolls
More hair styles, the option for beards on males, and maybe a golden eye glow. Also tusk options.

Vulpera
Not sure . . . Eye colors and skin colors, maybe some fur patterns and jewelry?

Bonus core race round!
Even more wildhammer options for dwarves.
Some arcane tattoos for night elves.
More worgen hairstyle options.
Some ranger tattoos and fel tattoos for blood elves.
Beards and forest troll options for trolls.

More hair styles, war paint, and tattoos for everyoooooooooone!

That concludes this wall of text, please let me know what you think or how greedy / insane I am for wanting more high elf options on void elves. Thank you and have a nice day. bow

Edit: almost forgot, get female gnomes and dwarves out of brunette eyebrow land! Seriously the goblins get eyebrows to match their hair, why not us? Also female Draenei out of blue or green eyebrow land. (Depends on skin tone)

While your stance is your stance I can respect differing opinions, the fact that whether it be from BE options or Gnomes etc, bringing VEs natural hair and removing that visual distinction to fully allow them to make a generic looking elf does still infringe on the Blood Elf visual theme and bring them the desired look for HE fans but completely disregards what little distinction BE fans who value distinction have left.

Despite different stances I wish you well as well.

Simple solution, use the human, dwarven, or gnomish hair texture pattern. Itā€™s noticeably courser then blood elf hair textures indicating that perhaps blood elves take more time with their hair.

Also thank you for being respectful and not calling me greedy, whiny, or insane . . . you wouldnā€™t believe how often that happens.

I think we are just at an impasse, what is in question is should Blizzard continue to allow VEs to replicate the full visual theme of the BEs they already gave them two visual themes, BEs have held the theme for generic playable fantasy elf in this game that would be human skin toned Elves, hence why it made sense to give Blood Elves diversity when human skin toned races received such.

What was a huge boon and bonus for the HE community was the RP tools given to almost completely replicate that visual theme awarding not only a second visual theme but the Blood Elf visual theme as well. There is already no model differences between VEs and BEs, and BE fans retaining that visual distinction after our own lack luster customizations is what is being further infringed on in this scenario to once again please HE fans.

It is all fine, this happens on the other side where HE fans often make attempts to paint the other side as the same.

I can respect your position and stance but disagree and none of this is personal, and you clearly seem to get that too showing respect for others opinions, so I am glad despite disagreeing this was a decent exchange. :hugs:

Also this is a point of issue many times with HE fans trying to argue against BEs receiving Farstrider(ranger tattoos) as you said, so I do applaud that you do not try to keep BEs from their Farstrider culture. Many HE fans who have been so supportive of sharing when itā€™s only been in their favor suddenly feel the need to guard this part of BE culture and do so by calling them ā€˜Alleriaā€™ tattoos.

So I do note that you seem decently well intentioned still, despite my disagreeing with further options for VEs that are HE in origin, but I would also say I am happy for what is already been done for HE fans and am glad so many can take advantage of the current RP tools they have.

At the end of the day I just want everyone to be happy. Iā€™ve wanted alliance high elves since the beginning and these days I donā€™t want to step on anyoneā€™s toes while at the same time not fully giving up what I desire. We may never agree but thereā€™s no reason we canā€™t be civil about it.

So thank you for being civil. bow

Hey guys. Sup! This is Bryian now known as a High Elf Mage name Tanledis.

Anyways I had a crazy idea and I ended up going for a Archmage Type so now Iā€™m on Wrymrest in terms of the Alliance High Elf Lore RP.

There arenā€™t enough alliance to rp with in WrA for my tastes. MG alliance > WrA alliance. I actually see more than two people in the city on MG, and we donā€™t have the horde roaming the streets of SW with nobody able to stop them.

Itā€™s not really that bad. I still see people alot in Stormwind in Trade, Old Town, Mage Quarter, Some in Paladin Direct, and Lionā€™s rest.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, the more the merrier is my approach.

Yeah, plus wra doesnā€™t have a whole wall of veryā€¦ aggressive draenei females. Going to Moon Guard is like a nature documentary.

I can only speak for horde side since on WrA thatā€™s all I play but holy hell the RP drama on horde WrA turns me off from there. I can avoid the aggressive ā€œfemalesā€ in GS on MG at least haha.
