Feet don’t look like perfect ovals from below. Those are 100% hooves from the side, and he also has like 80% of the male draenei animations, the rest being custom spells for him exclusively.
They can’t really fit the animations, specially running ones, of a rig with hooves to one without since it would bend the feet awkwardly (I mean… more than usual considering blizz’s history with clipping models).

Look above, those are not how legs work for any model with feet.
Wearing shoes twice as long as your feet isn’t how feet work.
Shins also don’t bend like that unless you have hooves though.
If he can wear shoes on his hooves, why can trolls wear shoes?
there are armor sets that cover troll feet now.
That looks like chicken feet though.
We’ve seen how in Legion Tauren could start wearing boots that actually covered their hooves, hopefully the same progress will apply to trolls.
Speaking of which, can any of you who can post pictures, post one of the Trial of valor plate set on a tauren? That’s an example of how armored hooves look like.
