I can’t speak on something that isn’t the case or hasn’t happened. What I will say is my stance previously was what you described and many people still whether through entitlement of wanting more for VEs “now” or what have you attacked that stance back and forth and tried to twist it as being not supportive to the point where I was very much soured on the issue combined with already thinking pushing for more for a fandom that has been catered to on customizations thus far was in poor taste already.
You’re describing my old stance and that was by several and I’m sure many here remember it being torn apart and attacked regardless.
It was this weird “oh so you want only BEs to come first huh Lann” like no my argument was any core race should take precedence as all core races are lacking, which was met along the lines with “well it’s good that we the HE community don’t tell others when they can ask for customizations” which I just rolled my eyes at because obviously at that point you know the real issue they had with my stance was it didn’t factor in VEs for more stuff “now”.
That and the occasional “what you’re not happy with your blue eyes BEs got everything they wanted ;)” that really just was exhausting.
It’s actually more clear and easy for me to just be against the options as the community has been catered to so as someone who formerly supported them in the interests of fairness they aren’t even on my radar anymore.
I don’t want anything the Alliance has. If I wanted anything the Alliance has, I’d be playing Alliance because I like the two sides being distinct and having their own things.

Yeah I will never understand why people put Allied Races before Core Races especially given many people including myself don’t feel that Core Races were given the proper attention/customization to begin with.
However I am also mixed given I feel Nightborne have been shafted since the get go so I feel we should get equal time for them, as well as customizations/customizations shared or taken from Night Elves like Void Elves have from Blood Elves so.
Anything can be hurtful to someone but i think it’d be nice to try to avoid being so to others.
I think there is a clear distinction between someone being offended and someone going out of their way to be antagonistic about being offended or offending others.
And so there is no misunderstanding I’m not implying or implicating anyone by the latter statement.
