Were Elves the only races to receive eleventh hour additions?
Not an American here dude, explain cause I don´t get your post.
I’m not an American, either.
If I recall, “eleventh hour” is an English phrase coming from the King James Bible, meaning “last minute.”
Oh, kk.
Now in regards to your post, I´d say I have no idea if the customizations were done at the last minute, but as a Belf fangirl I can say they certainly were done with complete DISREGARD of their lore. For starters, the lastest lore described them as more grimmer and bitter and considering excesive displays os luxury and comfort to be of bad taste… and what was the " artistic core feature" the art team used to customize Belves? Body jewerly /massive facepalm. Also, short ears (that almost no Belf Horde player uses) were asked never but alas!!! Had to satisfy the crowd that not even likes and sometimes even despise the Belves /rollseye
I´m famous here for asking very little in regards to Belf customization (imho, the most lore accurate and few, the best). I just wanted runic tattoos and scars.
I understand where you are coming from, I guess I view it like this, if all we have to look forward to is bare bones small QOL additions so be it, but that Blizzard would continue to give additions giving VEs two complete visual themes which is more than a barebones QOL thing - I would be very vocal against that, and that is where I find myself lending my voice these days, because I do not see that as fair.
Just remember, you’re free to join us orcs whenever you wish.
Oh, it´s absolutely unfair and worse, a supposedly serious company caving to the cries of adults that behaved like colicky babies for more than a decade rather than adapt and move on, but sadly THIS is the actual stance of Activision Blizzard.
And unser such premise, you can be guaranteed they will break the freaking forums and social media with their “demands”. Ergo, better to let them have the least problematic stuff (A.K.A. the cosmetic one) instead of entertaining more problematic petitions like their neutral Silvermoons or their Warfronts depicting the Belf nation as if TBC never left (like that ridiculous post in SF done by one average Helfer in which he manifested his desire to see Velves being developed as the “freedom elves” that aren´t evul creepy like thjose Belves with their TBC mind control) and so on and so fort.
Dear, been there done that. I´m the prod owner of a male/female pair of each Horde race (which basically translates as having more Orcs than Belf characters for example).
My condolences on the destruction of the Saurfang character in BfA and the memeing of Thrall in SL intro, btw.
Maybe if they give us the same treatment they gave the Elves to make us a little more enticing.
Dude, you guys ARE waay more enticing from a customization based upon lore PoV than the current Belves will ever be (customization wise ofc). I loved your new haircuts and your warpaint and your tattoos).
Not much but SO proper. Amazingly done.
You can convey culture and personal history with your choices. We cannot, outside of a few injuries - and it’s hardly surprising that an Orc has been in a fight.
We could have had Dragonmaw skins, Fel Orc skins, glowing eyes, etc.
Yeah, we look awesome. But we certainly can’t do the type of aesthetic storytelling that Elves are privy to.
We do not have Felblood Elf themes either, or a second visual theme.
But I wish Dragonmaw had been implemented for Orcs at least, I loved questing with them in Twilight Highlands they seem fitting to be seen in the Horde…
Fel Orc skins aren´t precisely a good option imho (lorewise all the Fel Orcs were kinda put to the meat grinder, dude. And with good reason).
Lack of Dragonmaw is indeed a fail, but at leasat it´s just one aspect not present; not devs literally ignoring the lore of the race to push a “make it look like Barbie Wardroom minigame” like it happened with Belves.
The hardcore Helfers in the thread will come for my blood for saying this, but the jewerly? Absolutely proper for HELF customization options (they were after all the individuals happily fanning their faces and relaxing while their Human and Dwarf buddies carried their useless behinds -Veeresa, nuff said- while their Belf compatriots were trying to survive and recuperate their zombie infested nation).
There are indeed Fel Orcs in the New Horde.

In a bit of environmental storytelling, it seems that the Orcs that were left in the wake of Magtheridon’s corruption joined the Horde post-TBC - with their red tint rather than Mannoroth’s green.
It would also give us a roundabout way to play as one of the Outland Orcs from the original timeline.
Anyway, I’ll stop derailing with my Orcish bitterness. You can find me here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/megathread-twilight-highlands-allied-races-dragonmaw-orcs-and-wildhammer-dwarves/652888 if you’d like to discuss it more.
Good luck, Elves.
We got a ton of options and our theme was nailed pretty well but imo the options we did get, despite being so numerous, are low impact.
MU Blackrock too.
Damn, why haven´t the devs mentioned this ANYWHERE -I mean, the models can be there BUT there´s no story, no character saying “hewy, this dudes kinda came back with us -they have the Nazgrel seal of approval-”!!
Mmmm… maybe devs decided against it to avoid messing up with Mag´har Orc options?
Hopefully they take this stance when considering (if it even ever comes up) options on VEs that dilute BE options.
They should be consistent with that at least. Though to be fair I know less about the orc clans I just know I like Dragonmaw and want to see their options being used on NPCs and players alike. Did Orcs get Frostwolf jewelry?
MU Blackrock don’t look like AU Blackrock and MU Blackrock are a part of the Durotaric orcs.
They kinda already neglected this, Lann. At the most I HOPE that, if devs deign us Belf fans worthy of AT LEAST getting the facial (and hopefully, body) runic tattoos and scars of the TBC game box (yup. you read correctly, scars. Look carefully at the small scar above the lips of the male Belf), then those will stay Belf exclusive -sorry, non genotiable. Velves can keep the one dimensional stuff related to Alleria for all I care but. At least let us have ONE freaking exclusive thing ffs-.
Then there is no issue with the implementation… wonder if devs will put it later.
I would say they can take the stance moving forward especially, black and white hair work for the Void aesthetic but hopefully move towards more unnatural Void hair beyond that at the most.
Man, their freaking loss for clinging to a 20+ years old game. Velves are PERFECT to implement fantasy balayage-esque hair (heck, they already have it) but some of the Helfers rather play boring old Legolas than to innovate.
Maybe we Belf fans should ask for this (I mean the Bicolored hair is SO easy to justify as cultural exchange with our nu Troll buddies hehehehe).
