They did not lose any of their customization options when Void Elves were given those.
These character options were never intended to be equal. They’re just that, additional customization options that have been requested since the dawn of time.
I understand the point of view, but I have trouble using exclusivity as a defensible argument against further ‘High Elf’ customization options when you can already make nigh identical looking elves on either faction.
I just don’t see how giving Void Elves additional ‘Blood elf-esque’ options can possibly infringe upon this any more than it already does.
Nobody ‘needs’ any of the additional customization options. Blizzard just adds what they think will make people happy.
I think it’s good to be vocal about wanting more Void orientated options, but I not understand the point of claiming that the people who request more High Elf options have ‘had enough already’, as if the developers are taking turns in giving Void Elves options between the Void Elf and High Elf aesthetic.
At the end of the day Blizzard just copy pasted a bunch of skin and eye colors because this was a much requested addition to Void Elves.
As developer interviews have made clear, they’d like to give more options to the allied races too at some point. I doubt Void Elves will be left out.
Personally I think they’ll give Void Elves more of both sides of the coin.
I can even see Blood Elves and Void Elves going the way of the panda at some point in the far future.
ONLY if the factions are re-done so that its something like harry potter magic academies. then itd be mix and match essentially. i think you read my idea on that already.
The reason I don’t like that idea from HE fans is because it comes off like you hate BEs being Horde so much you’d rather destroy factions.
So what happened to wanting “Alliance” High Elves?
It reveals the real issue was always people problems with the Blood Elves organically being Horde.
I have never been against removing factions myself, but I do support like cross faction game play if it was ever a topic I could be for or against that I’m undecided completely really.
it just seems organically more interesting, mostly for rp’ers. i dont rp, so thats not something i’m sold on. but i have been playing the original everquest triology - first three games - on an emulator, and they resolved population issues by letting evil and good races group with each other. this worked out extremely well because different races excel at different things. half elves make the best bards, wood elves the best rangers, ogres the best warriors, dwarves the best paladins, high elves the best enchanters, gnomes and erudites the best mages, dark elves and hobbits the best clerics, iksar reptilians the best necromancers, trolls the best shamans, etc.
