You’re literally bringing nothing of value in either support of opposition of the idea, you’re literally just posting right now, which I’m finished acknowledging.
I would argue there’s not much value in demanding massive structural changes to the game in order to obtain your personal vision of what void elves should be, if you’re gonna be like that, tbh.
I never directly opposed this??? Blue eyed for Blood Elves was never my cup of tea, but all power to anyone who wanted them. The same goes for Violet, the Blood Elves would look stunning with them too and I was surprised not to see them on beta.
I’m also fine with Void Elves drawing on Alliance assets exclusively. You seem to be mixing me up with some of the other pro-high elf posters.
Which is the direction they’re going anyway, other races may as well capitalize off of it as well.
And I’m sorry you’re not liking my responses to being told to move and linked crass videos, maybe try to class it up a bit and you wouldn’t illicit that kind of response???
Sorry mixed you up with someone else there.
Eh, I’d still say that Thalassian paladins are a Blood elf theme, and the race even if given more options is still void infused.
Look, I just try to stick with what’s in the game for what to go by, since we can all make up a scenario to get what we like.
Like how Magni should be found to be corrupted by old god voices/echos that he mistook for Azeroth, and Cairne’s spirit guides Dezco into a new leadership that is able to successfully remove the sword and heal the Earthmother Azeroth, who is missing both eyes and thus is on a higher level than Mu’sha and An’she (and say, certain other names for them that a certain overly written about race may have for them.) But that doesn’t really matter to what’s going on in game unless they see it, slap their foreheads and hire me on as a writer/steal the idea.
they gave us so few things that is the surprising thing
Well of course Blizzard will struggle to get suggestions for belf stuff when every time a belf customisation thread comes up it gets drowned by people demanding more helf options for velfs.
tattoos, scars, more beards, more hairstyles
Okay, now go make a thread asking for those in the op. Without it degenerating into a flag war.
I’m still trying to figure out what Blood Elves will be getting as a second visual theme or like literally anything to compare before giving more BE themes and options to VEs, it’s my opinion it’s not fair as it is right now and at first I was quite excited about the possibilities it could lead for BE players getting things being requested but so far nothing.
I’m not happy with the state of BE options so unless something pops up randomly in the coming weeks I wonder if they will be adding anything for Blood Elves.
The only problem I have with a second blood elf theme is I don’t know if there’s one that’d feel natural for them that wouldn’t be divisive. As has been seen, there’s wildly different feelings on the darker themes, be it people who are wary of themes that might invite villain batting, or forsaken folk who feel they step on their toes in a way.
I think the main problem I see with it, is that the whole drive for a second theme is coming mainly from the way void elves got theirs. So for blood elves, to me at least, it doesn’t feel like an additional theme is an organic growth of the blood elf story, there’s no real moment in the Horde story to work as a hook for it. Like if they actually had the horde interact with the vampire elves in BFA so it wasn’t just one in the alliance story that ended up killing their companions.
Basically, it feels like the main reason belves need dramatically new themes is that void elves got what they did. If that didn’t happen, belves probably would have been in a good place with just showing some love to the themes they already had and deepening the options and lore around those themes.
That’s fine, it’s easy to mix people up, so I’m willing to apologize myself and let bygones be bygones if you are.
And Blood Elves will also have a rich and unique class fantasy regarding their Paladins. Most people just want High Elves to play second fiddle to Humans as part of the Silver Hand.
Which is fair, though the seeds already exist for what we are asking for, which is a fairly specific outcome and I at least recognize that there could be a different outcome if there is any outcome at all.
But now that you’ve elaborated on your option more eloquently, I can acknowledge and respect it, even if I don’t necessarily share these views.
Stick in the mud elves. Like blood elves but substantially grumpier.
You rang?
I don’t have a phone.
I’ve just ended up with a bit less patience on arguments based on stuff that’s not the game story. Heard way too much about how elves in various other settings (dnd, tolkien, and so on) should be reflected in the elves of wow. And I feel that the story as it is while not the best, has its own charms and I’d rather it stuck to being its own thing and not trying to try and copy other things, since that can lead to the story becoming blander and way more generic. (I get that’s not what you did, but that stuff contributed to my reaction there to a what if scenario)
And I may be a bit biased, but I kinda feel elves get enough love in the story as it is. I mean, they’re the only ones who get their very own class. So kinda feel like until they do something like give other races their own unique classes, or open up DHs to non-elves, or just flat out let everyone play anything, that the elven races don’t need more classes.
Makes me wonder how that’s going to work for monks. As you get a special pose to hold your brewmaster staff over your shoulder, will I get that as a mistweaver?
I would also like to be able to choose my fighting style as a Monk. Have the Staggering Ox stance as a mistweaver. And I wish I could have all my healing abilities red because I feel like my monk is a Chi-Ji follower and not Yu’lon.
I get that, especially when discussing one of the most controversial aspects of the game in which opinions are strong and very similar on either side.
I prefer to try to go off of in universe stuff myself and I kinda gloss over outside references myself. I try to base my own requests off of stuff that could happen within the Warcraft universe and has at least a small amount of precedence.
I agree somewhat, as while I ofc have a vested interest so as I myself would like to see each Elven race recieve at least one more class each, I understand that other races need to be caught up, especially those with a small group of classes or lack more universal classes such as Mages and Hunters.
Even when if comes to ARs LF Draenei, Tauren and Nightborne need additions a lot more than Void Elves do.
I also agree that Demon Hunters should be opened up to other races, especially when you look at Death Knights which can be any race race now. I personally could see Orcs and Draenei(Broken) Demon Hunters due to being in closer proximity to the Illidari and some working with them in Outland, though by no means would I need this specifically.
velfs cant be that elf only class. they also cant be druids, shaman or paladins. velfs, like nightborne, are almost not elves since they arent allowed two of the biggest signature/traditional elf classes in wow, et. al, paladins (belfs) and druids (nelfs), nor an elf exclusive class, et. al, demon hunters (belfs and nelfs).
Because ‘canonicly’ they still turn voidy and use void portals.
So no.
I read the rest of your posts to date… And all I have to is…
Holy mental gymnastics Batman!
