And High Elves aren’t likely to implemented as a standalone race any time soon, so folding them into a subrace, bringing a class or two to the table with new cosmetics is the next best thing, which other races would have a similar dynamic as well. Especially for the sake of reducing the amount of redundant ARs where as both a race and subrace would benefit far more drawing on a much larger pool of customization options as opposed to the 3-6 options most ARs have to draw on, when they ought to have been added as customization options(subraces) in the first place.

That happens with the Wildhammer as they are an option of the normal dwarf you can become a Wildhammer Warlock, mage and paladin

Well besides the fact those have all been examples of Blizzard finding ways for those combinations to fit existing lore for the class rather than changing the lore for those classes

I never said they were. Changing paladins to be a fundamentally different class in the lore, however, is a retcon.

The only retcon I’d be a fan of is getting blood elf druids back. I was simply stating blizz could change their definition of paladin considering many of the enemies we’ve fought are “paladins” but don’t use the light. But it’s whatever you seem to have very strong feelings enough to get aggressive about it. So I’ll drop it.

Tyrant Velhari is a prime example of a paladin that doesn’t use the light.

She isn’t exactly a Paladin though. Sure, she’s like a spin on a Paladin, but her abilities function entirely differently than a Paladin.

Rezan and An’she are both gods connected to the Light that trolls and tauren worship. Blood knights at least definitely do worship the Light.

There’s no reason the void elves couldn’t capture a void being or dark naaru and siphon its power the same way the blood elves did. They literally are just doing it 10 years earlier.

Lol, sure, the Tauren worship the Sun, not the Light. The Blood elves feed themselves with the power of the sunwell and before that they sucked the life out of a Naaru, not then and not now were they worshipping the light. The trolls worship the Loa, not the light. You couldn’t be more wrong even if you wanted to.

The first Sunwalker was a warrior and all subsequent Sunwalkers have been martial. If you think a Light-worshipping, plate armoured warrior with no connection to the spirits of the wild is a druid and not a paladin, I have some bad news.

Don’t try to twist my words. I’m saying that being the playable WoW class of Paladin is about wielding the Light, regardless of how you get there.
