I’ve had 3 guilds shrink and fall apart because the server is dying and it’s almost impossible to find groups for anything. And I’m on the dominant faction here, wouldn’t even want to know what it’s like on the horde side.
My group of longtime wow friends and Arena partners all quit at the launch of TBCC when blizzard decided to grenade the arena system, so I’m not counting them in this. I’m talking more about the gradual, slow death of servers due to the inability to form groups for content.
Didn’t mean to give the impression of a mass exodus. Only meant to imply that Blizzard will lose more money without the feature majority of classic players were waiting for. I think there are more “casuals” and semi-hardcore players that would be okay with unsubbing. The group that is against the LFD feature trends towards the hardcore group. They will be less likely to unsub.
Of the players that stopped playing… on a guess what % do they stop paying for the sub fee? Mine is automatically paid and it’s a hassle to undo that and redo that… So how many still pay and just don’t play I wonder? Would that make a difference?
I just don’t understand how people can’t see this. Putting LFD in Wrath was expected and virtually nobody was going to unsub because of it. It was an EXPECTED feature. Removing it just causes plenty of people including myself to unsub. This change makes absolutely no business or creative sense to me. I don’t have as much time to play as i did in original Wrath, and I’m not going to sit in Org looking for a dungeon group for 45 mins any more. As usual the sweats ruin it for everybody else. I hope Wrath is DoA.
I’ve done that before and forgot my sub was running hehe. I wouldn’t be surprised if others have made that mistake. It’s pretty easy to do with all the subscriptions to keep track of these days.
Consequences of no LFG in TBC = Everyone paid to character xfer to the same 4 servers.
Consequences of no LFG in WOTLK = Awful leveling experience, everyone will buy boost coins.
Blizzard knows what they are doing, maximizing profit on a 20 year old game… they aren’t dumb.
