Consensus on the nerf?

It objectively is. You’re boring me. Have a good day.

Later! Spend some time pvping on your paladin so you can understand it in the future instead of getting upset or something

Anyway back on topic, the nerfs were good and ret still feels very strong.

Taelpalx - how does our survivability feel in PvP with our nerf to fading light? I can’t play yet. This has been my main concern.

Actually really good still. SoV and Dp being on 1 minute cds is very good for the spec, but we still have instant flash and all of our utility as well. Fading light absorbs ~100k now instead of the 400k it’d normally do, so it isn’t great but isn’t awful either. Seal of order is a very viable option in its place though.

But survivability is still very good overall. From my own games and others I’ve watched, it is usually a waste of time to go the ret paladin unless it’s caster cleave or a ret v ret and even then the games can be longer than usual if that happens

Ok. Because my fear was we would be back in the same boat but with a slightly different rotation. They ignore us on mobility so I didn’t want to be a squishy sitting duck again.

Very valid concern for sure, the fading light nerf was quite big but unfortunately pretty necessary. However that’s all they nerfed in terms of defensives so we are still hard to kill but in a more balanced way thankfully. Harder to kill than most classes I’d say

They worked but I dont feel as bad as pre 10.0.7

Gameplay is waay better feeling and still feel like I can put up a decent enough fight now.

Before nerf it was a tad redic imo, super fun but can understand that was very overwhelming.

agreed humans are pathetic

I definitely think things should be nerfed. The scale they did it in was too heavy though. I’m all about short calculated changes over time. I think this round they should have just nerfed our burst. See how it goes - if we still need nerfs then target things like our survivability, etc. Blizz has a real track record of over-nerfing things then not revisiting. I definitely agree they are targeting things they shouldn’t (looking at you JV).

fading light is a death talent now

I am glad these are pvp changes only but this whole debacle has definitively exposed a majority of the pvp player base as absolute children who cannot handle Paladins being at the top. Just an absolute rotten group of people. And I say this as a person who doesn’t pvp at all, I literally don’t have skin in the game.

That’s how it always is though, over nerf and under deliver the rework didn’t even fix one of the main things they said they wanted to fix. After the nerfs its right back to the same issue damage is great, survivability back in the dumpster, stuck with the same trash horse and freedom.

Gotta agree with Taelpax here still feels fine, our damage is still solid an we feel like a threat still. Losing freedom does suck but with Judgement purge slows dont hurt nearly as badly. Healing is fine an our defensives feel solid for the first time SINCE Wrath we feel normal again. I waited to do arena/bgs until after nerfs went live.
Plan on doing arena soon but in bgs I felt like my shaman/DK I was a noticeable threat with kill potential now.
They really did just change how our damage works out. We do about the same damage in bgs prior to the rework.
The difference is now our damage isnt just fluff or passive. It feels very smooth an isnt staggered by gcd as much. By this I mean its more bursty then before(good thing). Mobility kinda sucks atm ngl but with spammable Judgement slow an dispell(unless warlock affliction) its nice.

Are you playing ret? Survivability is some of the best in the game currently. Probably right behind locks. Do people not realize how broken ret actually was or what? Have any of you guys played it after the nerfs? It’s still insanely good.

For the first time since I honestly can’t remember when, we have good survivability -and- a very good damage profile now, the only thing we don’t have is mobility but taking the auto cons talent+cons slow talent+judge slow talent helps a ton vs kiting classes like hunter. 80% slow passively every 10 seconds on top of freedom and increased fv range. I tried this last night post nerf and it actually helped, we have a bit more freedom in our talent tree now to play around with as Ire and divine wrath aren’t required anymore

And what’s worse than this is a lot of them are paladin’s screaming for nerfs - basically self inflicted wounds NOT realizing that once the damage is done, it’s done. Blizz probably won’t undo them and any buffs we see to compensate won’t make up for it. This is Blizzard’s M/O with our spec.

Maybe reading is a little hard for you lol they said only ret changes would be pushed out tonight and no the healing didn’t need a nurf at all

I honestly cannot remember a tantrum this bad being thrown by a wow community. This can all boil down to having bubble and lay on hands out in world pvp. Their brains have been warped by getting destroyed out in the world. They just cannot accept paladins getting out of the bottom ranks.

Actually crazy how people cannot progress their character without it being insanely overpowered are the ones thinking the nerfs are too much.

I’m literally looking and most of these people haven’t touched arena on their paladins since the nerfs. Mind blowing to me.

Maybe playing the game is hard for you? The absorb from fading light absolutely needed a nerf. 400k passive absorb from pressing buttons we were already going to press is ridiculous.

And for what it’s worth, warlock passive absorb could use a nerf too imo

Palm in face man. These people cannot accept the fact our spec is very good lmao

? It always stacked to 100k something.
