Why do we have to accept this, as people also subscribed to the video game? You think Blizzard is going to just leave this system as is once the subscription numbers dip substantially?

I’d be fine with a 619. I just hit 603 today and my highest guildie is only 609. Pretty sure we’d clear Heroic in a day if everyone was 619 and we’d all be fine with that.

Why does everyone NEED the highest ilvl in game? Just to have it? Like if my goals are done (AoTC/KSM) then I find gear and ilvl is totally irrelevant at that point. My goals are done, I wont be doing mythic raiding or caring to get a higher score like 3k (I don’t care for portals) so why do I even NEED gilded crets and 6/6 Heroic? Oh right, I don’t. People WANT stuff, they do not NEED stuff.
And it shouldn’t be handed out just cause people WANT it. If you want it, earn it.

We never said everyone. We never said the highest. Stop taking things to extreme, nobody will consider your ideas with such hyperbole out the gate.

Having a path to higher gear encourages you to push further. If you’re done at 619 you’re done and have nothing else to do and leave.
In DF S1 we got near gear cap doing M+ and then got bored and stopped, but at least the point of getting bored and stopping was further along the path because the path existed.
In DF S1 +18 dropped gear only 3 item levels lower than +20. +20 was only 3 item levels lower than mythic raid gear. We played that season longer because there was a path to go further. We got there and stopped, but at least the stopping point involved more content and was more fun to get to.
Blizzard thought they could get us to play longer by making the grind longer and harder. Instead all they did was gut interest in playing at all.

How is that a bad thing? I usually finish KSM/AOTC within a month of a season. For the other 5 months I take a break, and play very casually. I level alts and I gear alts. You can work on other things besides purely ilvl. Professions. Collections. People are limiting themselves if they think they must always be chasing ilvl on 1 toon

It’s a soft lock, not a hard lock. As you hit each ilvl thresholds where crests become obsolete, you unlock the ability to upgrade crests to the next tier. But the treadmill does get a lot steeper.
But gear isn’t my endgame goal, it’s just a means to make my goals easier and more comfortable.

We’re asking for a way to bridge from 619 ilvl and upwards through the VERY SLIGHT reduction in keystone levels that would help a significant portion of the M+ community. Why does Blizzard have to only consider the needs and wants of the top 1% over the other 99% when all of our subscriptions and voices are of equal value. You can gain a sense of self-esteem not related to the imaginary rating on a third party web site trust me. As an elite player like yourself, I know if the nerfs come then you’ll have to start charging less for the carries you sell which is truly why you’re here posting because otherwise you’d have absolutely no motivation to sit here and comment on issues you’ve already surpassed just for the sheer entertainment of watching other struggle.

Heard is here first. To be “elite” you only need a 2k score and AOTC. Cause that’s ALL I bother with.

Then why are you here commenting on this when most of us that are have been shooting for much higher goals then that.
A) How is it “hard locked”? You can’t do high M+ or heroic/mythic?
B) Your ego can’t handle not having the best gear?
C) Best gear has always required high end content since day one. Get better.

Cause I am not entitled nor do I care for “higher goals” I am quite content getting 619 since I have no desire to mythic raid or do +9s. Watching people demand the crests be given to them is just sad. The fact you think you need them is sad. If my 616 resto shaman got AOTC and KSM, why do I care if my gear is 6/6 Heroic? My goals are done, so any ilvl above that is just for “OH MY GOD BIG NUMBER” factor. Not useful
There is no argument for trying to progress into Mythic track and you’re getting stuck, that’s why these people don’t have solutions.
The only solution is network and join a guild and try to do Mythic raid.
Posters on here aren’t gonna help, they’re just going to antagonize people for not being at a certain level.

Nobody has ever demanded that, and even suggesting that strips you of all credibilty. I can take you serious no longer. Most of us arent’t even here to complain for ourselves…I just had another homie quit the game three hours ago. I don’t want to sit here again alone for another expansion because the top 1% were catered to.

If people quit cause the game is too hard for them, and they can’t get the highest ilvl possible in game, perhaps it’s for the best. How will they handle life when they don’t get the highest promotion or make the most money at a job?
