Agreed. I’ve run and led premades when Hydra was running back in the day and have gotten stomped on the other side by the same group, So I do get it. While I want my faction to win the battles I’d like to see both sides get at least some honor. Scorched earth tactics for as long as it went only leads to the current situation. shrug
I haven’t been in an AV since the holiday weekend. But the week leading up to it I was in a few that were brutal. I really hope they’re beginning to adapt like you say they are,
That does seem to be the common theme. Scatter to the winds and picked off by a better organized enemy. In our win against the previosly mentioned Netherwind premade we simply defended the the IBT choke and let them come to us while our stealthies went north.
It’s rare for a pug to beat a premade, granted. But it can happen.
That’s our pre-mades while goal, is to deny anything to the other team.
The AV weekend kind of ruined the premade for that weekend tho, as we couldn’t organize the pugs from the KEK TO DREK strat, and there was so many more games going the pre-mades would only get like 10 players in it a game.
Now that it’s over its back to normal, as we steadily get rid of that strat.
Sweeeeet. Dwarf Hunter sound good? Short, squat , huge beard. Like me IRL!
Yes, then you can laugh at rogues who blind you!
So I’ve heard. I have no real commentary as far as premades since I’ve been doing them on and off since original Vanilla. (up the hill! In the snow! Both ways!)
I understand the Alliance’s point of view and also hope the Horde will continue to adapt by either forming their own premades (like they used to) or come up with a new strat.
Excellent point!
The drek or kek strategy proves the players make AV & not the map.
Wrong, the strat for alliance only works if horde allow it and vice versa.
The horde are losing now because they are fighting pre-mades on Discord.
You might not realize it but your entire post proves my point.
“If the horde allows it”
“premades on discord”
Nothing you said shows anything about the map.
Not really you take two roughly equivalent teams skill/communication etc… where horde are not willing to zerg and horde will win almost all the time.
One faction has to allow the other faction run by…that’s not the map.
Without kek to Drek, alliance lost 95% of matches.
If the alliance premades are winning against the horde, it means alliance pugs can do the same strategy and beat the Horde too…
Proving it is the players making the game, not the map.
For all of 2020, basically, the Alliance pugs allowed themselves to be turtled at SHGY etc & that’s why Blizzard never stepped in to stop it.
They would have if the map was causing the situation, but it wasn’t & they knew it.
Now you get alliance (not all are premades by the way) going on offense more - not just drek or kek but also SFGY etc.
The players are making AV content & not the map 100%.
If your logic is that pre-mades are beating pugs so the map is fine, that’s pretty stupid.
Any competition that has players using comms and the other team not using comms is pretty 1 sided for a reason.
Hard to type while fighting. But it’s easy to talk into a mic to call stuff out.
You have no argument.
So I was doing some defense games on the weekend with my guildies when everyone was Drek and Keking. We won most of the games because defense wins Drek and Kek.
The pugs are for the most part still doing Drek and Kek. I was kind of happy today when I zoned into a few AVs with my horde alt and my guildie was there giving raid warnings about recalling to wipe them and looting corpses, and basically encouraging defense. He was also encouraging some to push North and was basically raid leading. Horde won the two games I was in there with him. Either way, defense beats Drek and Kek and the ally honor is generally not good.
This is my point. The map favors Alliance in a base race typically.
If horde throw a bit of defense alliance will auto lose as they will have no graveyard and be sent all the way back to spgy.
If the horde wipe north they only get sent to their cave. That’s why the map favors horde in normal games.
I have joined these “premades” before & I heard a girl talking about her cat, while they were in AV… These premades are just strangers playing with voice chat.
And it is a argument to say that these grouped strangers on voice chat talking about cats, covid & maybe even santa claus beating the horde prove the map isn’t imbalanced.
Blizzard doesn’t release sub par content. If classic AV was broken, Blizzard would have already fixed it. They look at it though and made the conclusion that players are deciding AV battles. Not the map.
Blizzard did fix it, they just haven’t applied the fix to classic yet.
You mean they fixed it during BC when their design intent was different? This is the classic version. This is how they wanted it then. Not later.
