Confirmed by Devs: No flying until late in the expansion

No we won’t. We will only know what they show us. Look at how they changed Torghast from Beta to live. People who ranted about how much they had loved it in beta wanted to know what happened since it changed so much.

I’m not taking the doom/gloom approach personally but I do have a healthy amount of skepticism.

The problem wasn’t the lack of flying. The expansion had 2 raid tiers, and when you weren’t raiding you were picking flowers in your garrison like it was farmville. That is why I quit and many of my friends quit. None of them quit because of flying, and all of them universally agree WoD leveling was fire. The content was lacking in end game.

We’ll see but there’s far fewer reasons why they’d want to radically reinvent dragonriding between beta and release compared to Torghast, namely that it isn’t tied to any kind of player power progression.

yeah…someone brought up the Sunk Cost Fallacy point in here the other day.
I think thats it for some of us…most maybe…me for sure.
Im so invested in all that crap Ive spent time farming that Im literally willing to deal with crap Id have dumped ANY other game by now over. lol.
I have zero patience and zero tolerance for pointless crap. This is certainly a test of my will, as you say. lol. Can I put up with this again for another two years over all that time investment?
I spect if you look at it like a bad marriage, yeah…time invested, but at a point you just gotta accept its time to move on no matter how many promises to do better youre hearing for the 800th time.

You don’t grind the dragon like Heart of Azeroth. You upgrade the dragon by exploring the zone and finding glyphs of power or something. It’s like renown coins in Shadowlands. We don’t know how it will all work yet, but it already sounds better than what we’ve had since 2007.

Hating this game has become a cottage industry. I’ll be enjoying Dragonflight while you miserable people poisons yourselves with hatred over a game you should have quit years ago when it passed you by.

I don’t think flying is done better in GW2. First off travel is done differently in the game. You can teleport in addition to the flying. If anything they should have taken how they do world events and boss from GW2. The flying they could have left alone.

Do we know that for sure? They sort of implied some areas of the new zones will only be available at a certain level of dragon riding which could very well tie player power to riding skill.

I just wish they would be more forthcoming with their plans.

I love how he complained about it being possibly being grindy, but completely omitted they also said Dragon Riding would be account wide.

I don’t mind the recipe drops. But the mount items (not the lattice but the other objects required) are wacky. Given how lackluster ZM is, it really killed my desire to pursue mounts and pets and I like to get both.

The cyphers aren’t difficult, true, and the console upgrade is mostly pointless but not terrible. But getting the genesis motes (should have slightly better drops) is really grindy but again, if you’re going to do the zone at all, the psychotic wildlife is aggressive enough one can accumulate them just going through the zone.

It’s the zone itself, personally. Not interested in tier gear 2 levels below the zone max gear and once I gear up my toon and max the rep, it’s painful to continue playing there.

Well, not painful. Just makes Korthia look fun and inviting. In fact, I see more people in Korthia on my server than ZM at the times I’m on.

You’re making things up.

They said in this new roundtable that how your dragon will be upgraded is still to be determined.

Warlords of Draenor. Patch 6.2. There was no 6.3.

It’s on the god damn website that you upgrade your dragon by reaching glpyhs of power in the zones. Stop lying, dude.

Sooooooooooo 2nd content patch?

100%, WoD’s biggest flaw is that 65% of its content ended up in piles in the cutting room floor, including large chunks of the garrison itself, which meant that they had to take what remained of garrisons from a fluff feature and shoehorn it into being essentially the entirety of non-raiding endgame content. It’s like if over half of MoP were cut and they had to make the farm fill in for all of it.

Even if that’s the case I think it’s a fair bet that any flight-required areas will easily be accessible with dragonriding so long as you do more than sit in cities all day.

From the official Website.

Talented Rider

Continue to improve your Dragonriding skill at max level by hunting down ancient glyphs and advancing your new Dragonriding skill tree.

Okay so I got like 100 posts in and like, seriously I don’t understand why most of the people posting in this thread even play this game. It seriously sounds like most of the posters here just want to see this game crash and burn for some vindictive revenge fantasy.

Which was the final content patch of that expansion, also known as the end.
