Confirmed by Devs: No flying until late in the expansion

They said that Zereth Mortis was received positively so they are looking into creating that sort of experience again.

That raised a flag for me. Yes, nothing was tied to the soul-bind system. But ZM is not a great design. New rep, new currencies, TERRIBLE drop rate for items for the mount/pet grind, overall bland and soul-less with good bits here and there.

I’m still reserving judgement though the overall interview was good, raising and clarifying a few hot issues on the forums.

Did not instill me with confidence in their ability to make a fun expansion. Definitely going to be a wait and see.

From everything I could gather, its if ppl dont get exactly what they want and how they want it, its a complete and utter travesty.

They are the biggest entitiled babies I have ever seen.

Putting words in my mouth. I never had a problem with waterstriders. I loved my water strider. I hated the change. It doesn’t make what I said any less true. Water striders were absolutely everywhere.

I’m here for all of the tears.

If they had never relented myself and many others, based on how quick they changed that decision once it was officially announced, wouldn’t be here.
The developers continued hubris of “we know what’s best” has continued to hurt the game. Dragon Isles looks to continue the trend.

Zerith Mortis isn’t good content. Jesus Christ. It’s an insane asylum with chores. You just mindlessly ping pong around the zone doing chores. It’s boring.

Get your head out of the sand, please, and pay some mind to what has been going on for a good long while now.

Blizzard tends to string people along, expansion after expansion, then release something that will satisfy the masses. This tends towards giving the majority some kind of false hope that, “Oh, hey, yeah this is what WoW should be. Maybe they’re on the right track again.”

And then the next few expansions come, and they are utter dog turds.

Blizz has been pulling this shiz since WoD, easily.

I found Zereth Mortis pretty chill. The cyphers were incredibly easy for me to get maxed. As far as recipe drops, some of them are rare. Depending on the mount or pet recipe, but I’m use to some pets and mounts being rare in other parts of the game. So that doesn’t bother me too much.

i think the devs finally realize they have to shed some of these players before another expansion is soured by their incessant complaining.

I answered your question. What is making people leery is the “fully upgraded” part since knowing Blizzard and their love of time consuming systems. For all we know, the fully upgraded dragon riding may not be available until the final patch and cost millions of gold.

There is so much they haven’t told us, people are getting a bit concerned.

It is not even a creative spin, it is GW2 flying system.

There’s no need to put words in your mouth. Saying everybody was riding the waterwalking mounts in BfA was a lie. And wanting all mounts removed is no different is wanting all those players to quit. So you can play wow as a single player game.

Maybe if you quit they could have focused on making zone design better instead of babying the flying crowd. This is really unselling the myriad problems WoD had. No flying didn’t hurt WoD. No content hurt WoD. Garrison chores hurt WoD.

I think so too. The game will never evolve with these babies breathing down Blizzard’s neck. I wish they would quit.

Right, because the current devs are all up in here, interacting with players, and hence, not making a better game.

So the expansion that didn’t have flying and the developers had no intention of letting us fly in still failed at making zone design better, why would no flying suddenly make the game better now?

I would bet it’s not that different from artifact weapons in Legion, which were pretty decent after the first few minor patches and fell in your lap by mid-expansion.

Either way we’ll know soon enough since the alpha is coming soon. No reason to doom-speculate in the meantime.

The thread title is a flat out lie because this was NOT confirmed by anyone. The devs did not say flying wouldn’t come until the end of the expansion only that it would come later on, and the OPs OPINION that it won’t come until the end would go against what we’ve seen in previous expansions as well.

I imagine it would be something like the heart of azeroth or artifact weapons, which would be cool.

Which is awesome. There is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from a game that does something better
