Confirmed by Devs: No flying until late in the expansion

The tears of whales are the most delicious tears of them all.

That flying response seems very reminiscent of what we were told before WoD launched.
An ambiguous answer open to interpretation with plenty of room for them to pivot in either direction.

im cool with that.

doesnt that just suck?
instead of seeing a new expansion and being able to be entirely happy about it, theres always got to be this nagging feeling inside
'whats he going to do this time to screw it up" lol.
Married to that crap for 15 years. I served my time, lol. I’ll play old content or ESO till flight is enabled in DF
and if its end of expansion I guess i wont have to waste the money. I’ll just wait it out.

And that’s the problem with consumer culture: carelessly throwing money at half-baked ideas.

100% the more movement options available the more engaging exploration is. Mario 64 isn’t the bedrock of 3d movement for no reason. Spider-Man 2 is also a game that is propped up by its traversal mechanics. I welcome our Dragon overlords.

I want to be optimistic. But it’s not how I’m wired, and they have been so disappointing as a Dev team lately.

Thats a load, legion would have never succeeded if it didnt take risks, now they are taking one of the most requested features and putting it on the forefront.

Really dont see the negative to this except at the perceived misgiving of ppl not being able to use their current mounts.

honestly I’ve been seriously contemplating doing the same. Will my will hold out? hard to say lol but the thought has definitely crossed my mind.

the problem with the entitled culture is that flying has no gameplay impact and yet we pretend this is the end of the world. As if our $15 makes us shareholders or developers or management for a billion dollar company.

They never should have relented. They should have finished WoD though.

I fully expect this and more. I remember unlocking the cloud serpents and raising the little fellow
and expect this to include 100 times more grind (or more).

Good faith got tortured mercilessly, over many expansions, until it was left dying in a bloody heap on cold concrete, bleeding out.

Don’t. I don’t have anything else to add, just don’t have a meltdown.

No. The original waterstrider debacle was during Legion development, when they announced that waterstrider mounts were no longer going to work outside the content they were earned in. A lot of people who had earned those mounts - not a small thing - were outraged at this gigantic nerf, which would mean things like their alts would have to swim from Durotar to Tanaris.

So they had to come up with a plan to remove waterwalking but allow players to buy it back on every alt. It took a while. And during that time we saw lots of “players” like the one up above who was claiming that it hurt his eyes having to look at people using waterwalking mounts and they should be removed from the game. And look, he wants the game to shut down by removal of everybody who has ever collected a mount, so he can play wow as a single player game.

The alarmism is crazy. They’ve already confirmed that dragonriding can move you faster than regular flight can when fully upgraded, so it’s like a flight whistle that improves over time and eventually gets situationally better than “regular” flight and is even account-wide
 how is this bad again?

People are still going to be zipping over it from the start, they’re just going to be zipping using a different system, and potentially at faster speeds than were possible before.

i feel a tantrum cominggggggggg.
