Confirmed by Devs: No flying until late in the expansion

As a hunter with various “-hunter/-stalker”-themed armor sets, I will have you know that gigantic shoulderpads are the best defense from dragons, preferably with some kind of dragon body part on them.

As I predicted they are trying to phase out flying from future expansions. They are obsessed with controlling the player experience.

You do realize world pvp is pretty crappy with flying?

See?!?! Like I said!

your ‘half-baked’ statement is subjected to your opinion and exists only in your head. I’m not arguing with what you think, only with what you’re wrong about.

Somehow we heard about this before…

umm, right. All I said, which you are not acknowledging is that the problem with consumer culture is carelessly throwing money at half-baked ideas- which you admitted you do in your first comment here. :man_shrugging:t5: Maybe you just took that personally. idk

Um…Blizzard took inspiration from player housing and gave us garrisons.

So only if they make it as good or better.

It’s only the planning stage, they’ll fix it in the alpha.
It’s only the alpha, they’ll fix it in the beta.
It’s only the beta, they’ll fix it on the PTR.
It’s only the PTR, they’ll fix it when it goes live.
The expansion is new, they’ll fix it in the next patch.
They’ll fix it in the last patch.
They’ll fix it in the next expansion.

It was happening long before he was even hired.

No it’s not. Spending my first years playing this game on a pvp server, everyone was happy when we got flying. About the only people who bellyache about flying during pvp are gankers. Go play a bg if you want to be grounded while you pvp.

With radio silence it might as well be.

“interview literal hours ago confirms that flying will be available in a similar manner to recent expansions”
“radio silence”

I agree. Same on my PvP server, where we all flew everywhere together. To gank Alliance raiders trying to enter HFC.

My interpretation of “end of expansion” (did they actually say those words?) is that flight might be implemented in the zone after the expansion has ended, thus enabling transmog runs by future players who skipped the expansion.

That’s a very non answer to me.

Typical of Blizzard.

That’s a miserable, pessimistic viewpoint from someone who lacks the self control to quit a game they clearly hate.

Typical of GD

edit: oh look there’s another one right below, predictably

Already knew the dragonflight system was going to be trash somehow.

Wrong, because it would take away all need to buy the WW equipment. You could then just use anti-dismount equipment and then use the bug to WW freely anytime, making equipment useless. In this way now I can WW with any mount in tank spec and have fun using whatever I want.

They will never designed a water zone again, if you were hoping for another vash’jir or something…give up on it. Generally they avoid water-related stuff now exactly because of vash’jr.

I didn’t see them say ‘end of expansion’.

This isn’t a surprise.
It’s been years folks.

It’s not going to change

Guess what? You can’t force everyone to like it. GW2 flying looks cool at first, but after a week if I want to just do WQs it will be annoying and tiring to have to dive bomb and swirl non stop just to get from point A to B. This should be OPTIONAL. Also, as I’ve said on other threads, this prevents my wife and me from flying together now, we have to take an extra few mins to get to wqs together making all multi-mounts near useless.

Dragonriding is going to be really fun and cool and feel immersive AF.

For about a week. It’ll get old fast and people will be screaming ripcord for normal flying.

Personally I am not a big fan of having all our mounts we earned or paid IRL money for being effectively disabled until whenever normal flying is available.
