At least, for the first time ever (and I can’t believe I’m typing this…) there is a legitimate REASON this time, I feel, for this to be the case in the Dragon Isles:
Dragons are predators. Our other mounts may be eaten, with us on them. A dragon is the best defense to visibly protect us from other dragons.
If this is NOT the reason they give, I will be as disappointed as ever. If this IS the reason they give, I’d almost rather they DIDN’T give us flying on other mounts, however I could buy it that once we have an exalted rep type status with the dragonflights that they would become familiar with our scent. I don’t like the excuse, but I’m actually hoping they are using this as a way to test mount mechanics to change other mounts in the future to ‘behave differently and uniquely’, aka ‘Frog’it’ world quest or maybe all flying mount now glide safely to the ground in non-flying areas.

They’re not removing flying. We’re going to get regular flying after dragon flying. Yay! We get 2 flying systems. So…stay on the ground if you don’t like it.

Read my whole comment, I don’t like the idea of no flying at launch; never have. I’m just saying at least if they gave us a REASON, like a really good overhaul of other mounts later and at least a bit of a good story as to why it’s like this FOR NOW… I’m not too upset. This is my ONE TIME pass that I give to Blizz for their BS, and only if it’s a damn good reason with something for us at the end.
