Concept for a new class: Void Knight

Or if they really wanted to go over the top they could have given every class a Light or Void enhancement with new visuals.

Iā€™m actually extremely happy Warlocks had Meta taken off of them. They never should have had it in the first place. Many of the Warlock abilities were first stolen from DHs. I always thought they were implemented a bit incorrectly to begin with. Taking things from DHs eventually came back to bite Blizz in the butt. lol

Indeed. Maybe throw in some sort of abilities similar to the Drustvar witches.

ā€¦ OH! Thatā€™s an idea! Those witches were linked to the Nightmare. So their abilities are Void based. Could even create some sort of storyline along those lines.

Agreed. Like I said though, most of the shadow priests I know miss pre void form shadow priest and would like old shadow back. So we could bring back and improve old shadow whilst keeping your idea of pure void energy and mine of portals.

In games, DHs had meta first. In the lore the first person to have used or experimented with was likely an eredar warlock. I believe thereā€™s a questline that proves that but Iā€™m not sure. Been too long since Iā€™ve done Legion on a warlock.

Also, warlock and DH meta didnā€™t have to be the same. DH meta could be awakening the demon inside of them, whilst warlock meta could be sacrifing demons to harness their power and become one.

Alright thenā€¦ since you want to stay on this subject.

Iā€™ll say, you are doing the exact same thing.

You keep insisting itā€™s ā€œtotally differentā€. And how itā€™s nothing about paladins using the void. Yet the OP quite literally said and this is me quoting this part of the post for the millionth time

What do shadow priests use in most of their kit? void related magic.

That is all.

What else is there to say on this subject? Other than your way of disagreeing with my opinion? Iā€™m genuinely curios why you insist on dying on this hill?

YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

Rosenylund, Rhlelle, please stop fighting. You are both entitled to your opinions.

And for the billionth timeā€¦

It was just an example of how they maybe might be able to relate them to something else, but donā€™t have to. We had this discussion before and you relented. But now you want to fight about your obsession over this again.

Iā€™m not the one trying to die on this hill. Thatā€™s you. LOL

I called you out on your smug ā€œdidnā€™t read beyond name of classā€ and completely disregarded the rest of the post with your triggered ā€œPaladins donā€™t use Voidā€ crap without even giving a modicum of time to read the post, get your head out of your tunnel and understand itā€™s a new class concept.

But Iā€™m done derailing this. You know what you did. No defense for it. Time to move on.

You do know that the original Paladins were priests/clerics who Alonsus Faol recruited and equipped with armour and weapons, right? After Northshireā€™s destruction in the First War, he was greatly concerned at how ill equipped the Church was to defend itself, which is why the Order of the Silver Hand was first founded.

If priests of the Holy Light can become Paladins, it stands to reason that it would also be possible for ā€œshadow paladinsā€ to exist.

Not necessarily saying they should be in the game (I mean, Death Knights are kind of the anti-Paladin anyway) but itā€™s not an outlandish idea.

Yup. Iā€™m done. I donā€™t mind when people say they dislike an idea. I mind when they refuse to even read it first before attacking it.

Aaaaanywayā€¦ apologies. And Iā€™m having fun coming up with concepts!

No. Necrolyte. Already exists within the lore.

Shadow Paladin would be Paladin-adjacent, not anti-Paladin.

Cool.

There is a spec that already uses void magic. And that is shadow priest.

And the creator of the idea saying itā€™s paladin for Shadow priest leads me to believe itā€™s just paladin randomly utilizing void magic.

Okay, but i already said my peace on this a million times. You literally just keep insisting i have a ā€œbiasā€ and saying ā€œitā€™s totally differentā€.

And until i get more elaboration from the person who thought of the idea. Itā€™s quite literally just paladin using void magic.

So you should not even be the one arguing over this fact anyway.

And before anyone assumes more of me, no i am not demanding answers from the OP.

Iā€™m saying my opinion, I am calling a concept on how i see it as.

THAT IS LITERALLY IT.

Nobody was attacking it.

I was only giving my opinion.

Which is what i tried to tell you since the start.

A Void Knight would essentially be a Void wielding Paladin, so it makes more sense as a new Paladin spec than an entire new class.

Well, there are 6 cosmic energies in WoW. Each of them has at least one class completely dedicated to it, except shadow/void. It currently only has a spec and another spec that occasionally dables in it. If the other 5 cosmic forces get their own class, then shadow deserves one too. Thereā€™s been spec suggestions above thatā€™d warrant it to be a new class instead of just a new paladin spec.

Thaaaaaaaaaaank YOU.

I prefer new specs and class skins over new classes honestly.

Except it doesnā€™t have to be. Thereā€™s no rule that says someone wielding Void and a sword has to be a Paladin. Not even sure where youā€™re getting this from. This concept is an entirely new class, completely separate, wearing mail and could have any type of backstory.

Nothing to thank him for, because heā€™s wrong. LOL

Youā€™re still fixating on this.

Itā€™s multiple evidence of the class idea borrowed from shadow priests.

And the OP said itā€™s shadow priest but for paladins.

You choose to die on the weirdest hills.

Paladins are warriors who utilize the Light, Void Knights would be warriors who utilize the Void. It would be quite a convoluted and unnecessary stretch to make them two distinct classes when they are polar opposites.

And againā€¦

They.

Donā€™t.

Have.

To.

Be.

Literally the OP said ā€œmail wearer.ā€ It could be an entirely new concept. You keep tunneling on this ā€œruleā€ that doesnā€™t even exist.

Nobody said they have to be.

But all facts supported by the OP suggest just that. Paladin for shadow priest.

The wiki also says Paladin can wear mail.

That does not make it an entirely new class.
