Community council

No, the CC members were not elected. They filled out applications and were selected by Blizzard from across the various types of players. They want to hear from casuals, hardcore raiders, PvP players, Role Players, old players, new players, pet battlers, etc. People with a variety of interests who can communicate well and provide feedback.

The Community Managers are the ones paid to read the forums, reddit, wowhead/fan sites, etc and collect feedback for the Devs. CC speak for themselves and any group or community they are active in (like role play, pet collecting, etc.)

The point of the CC is to be transparent. All topics discussed are done so on the CC forum and any Blizzard replies are right there for you to read.

Umm, I have not seen any threads about real world events on the CC forum. It has all been game focused.

yes that is why i also suggested that instead of this so called council, they just make a new forum where anyone can post but it is heavily moderated and bans happen for trolls or negative no use posts

I should clarify this then.

What I meant to say was if you believe the ONLY parts of the real life race that matter are the stereotypes, that’s racist. And some of the people in that thread (the one my post was in) were implying that. Not all, but some. They didn’t care about the other aspects of the races, just the stereotypes.

I did not mean if you see Zekhan not reading as racist, you’re racist. That was poor wording on my part. I meant, as I said, if you only care about the stereotypes of the race and believe those alone make a race, that’s racist. You’re disregarding every other aspect of that race. And some of the people in that thread were stating this, just in a roundabout way.

It’d be like if you believed Anime, Manga, Video Games, etc. were the only things that mattered about people who were Japanese. That’s discounting all the cultural parts of them that are amazing.

Rhielle and I came to an understanding last night on the forums and agreed not to bring up discord, and to stop people from bringing it up, as there’s no animosity from either side, so I ask kindly not to bring it up. (It’s in this thread, I believe)

That said, the doxxing threat is not baseless. I simply can’t prove it without doxxing them. Which the person on twitter knows. I’ve been nice and not reported them to twitter yet, but as the days go on and they continue their attack, I’m tempted to. It wasn’t a serious threat, because It was like “I found his socials. Insta, Twitter, SC, etc. I’m debating if I should post them. Maybe if he pisses me off” or something like that. I don’t have socials, so I know it was an empty threat. But it was still a threat.

I don’t even understand the problem with just reading general. Because there are a few trolls and some people state things meanly? That doesn’t seem like near enough justification to split the community in up. It’s very odd.

You must not watch much TV, see many movies or read many books.

It’s really not a thing from “decades ago”.

What accounts are these? Can you show them? Link them? Provide any evidence beyond your own words?

I was just typing something about this but I’ll reply to this instead I think this is what I was also seeing which I didn’t like as it invalidates their sentiment that people are valid even if they disagree with them.

I also didn’t like how your post more or less got ignored imo since they were saying the same thing in this thread yet again.

I do wanna add that like you I also gave them the benefit of the doubt more or less, there’s in game stances they have that I vehemently disagree with but things that in this context don’t matter, I did feel for them when they mentioned the LGBTQ+ issue they had so I would have hoped that they took more of a stance in solidarity with other minorities as well.

I also like Alynsa am not seeing what you’re seeing when I peaked in the convos / threads on twitter, but I am also not usually on wow twitter (my twitter is strictly real housewives and bravo tv oriented completely different vibe) I just wanted to iterate I am not part of that but also when I looked to try to find that it wasn’t there, just people having convos surrounding this issue like right now.

…no? We’re literally supposed to give our personal opinion.

Also, you should see there are likes on that post. Feel free to search the forums for the word Pink.

It is important to people. Just because it’s not important to you doesn’t mean it isn’t important to others. THis is why there’s people from all types of the game on the council.

so why is it a problem to allow anyone to post there? it’s not so hard to moderate one forum

its community council
not maizou council

Yeah, thats you looking for something that doesn’t exist. Thanks for helping to prove my point.

I mean you are more than welcome to try and find an overt racist now that uses illiteracy as a way of justifying their racism. Good luck finding one though.

I have collected community thoughts and posted them. However, I have also posted my personal thoughts like we were asked to do.

I’m the wrong CC member to accuse of not giving community feedback. Lol. I’m one of the only ones reaching out to get feedback to post.

Why is it called “community council” if the opinions of the community don’t matter.

the idea of the CC was to collect a ton of differing types of players, from collections to high end content (Still no major roleplayer member though, that pisses me off) and have them express their feedback. Their purpose is not to act like a US Senator and act like a speaking head while hiding their true feelings and motives on the topic.

Again, I actually do get community feedback to post. Wrong CC member. Lol.

But it’s called the community council because it’s made up of people from the community, rather than Blizzard employees.

One of the largest threads in the CC was about roleplaying…

not a roleplayer though.

Lol wut?

Did any of you tell blizzard for a change to the name of Community Council. Are you or anyone else afraid to lose youre roll for actually speaking up and being aggressive… a community isnt one owns personal thoughts and opinions… Where is the place to ask us about changes then compile data and send it to blizzard… Also… why is everyone so hung up on the pink forum post… literally the game is dieing because of blizzard only looking at feedback they want, CC members randomly giving thoughts in posts not doing anything to the game, and giving personal opinions about changes when it should be a “community” effort

do they have to be ISO 9001 roleplayer certified for you to be satisfied
