I looked at the introductions for the players in that forum. Not one. Not a single one represents me. None adhere to my play style at all. So for me, their issues and opinions are irrelevant. Which means, surprise, surprise, my issues still fall on deaf ears.
My only consolation is that the community council will be a dead forum much the same as the oceanic forum that hasn’t had any blue interaction for years.

well duh it’s gonna be an echo chamber lol, multiple people called that.
i don’t think anyone at blizz wants a challenge to their ideas or views on anything
is the council out now? are they gonna have green text or something?
i’ll be surprised if there’s anyone on there that will ever call blizz out on their hotter topics, but we’ll see

I don’t feel like its an echo chamber, but I feel like limiting feedback that will actually be looked at to 100 players is a really awful way of going about things. Seems like a great way to make sure the feedback making it to the devs is never representative of the larger playerbase.

Hmmm…I’m curious to why they’ve got someone on the council talking about TBC servers when I thought this was supposed to help the developers with the future of WoW not old content recreated for players…

I put in the main thread (or somewhere) if it fails or is ineffective the first time it’s dead to most people for awhile.
That said I’m not going to prejudge it’s success with no results. I will give it a fair shake to work (and no I’m probably not on it), I hope everyone can at least be cautiously optimistic about it.
Just because people do not do high keys does not mean they do not do group content. Pre-7.0.3 (Legion) M+ didn’t exist.

You don’t have to do high keys, but you need to do some…at any level lol. Your input is not valuable if you’ve never done a key. I’m not taking a golf lesson from someone that has never played.
Same for me, at least so far.
Just taking a quick glance/skim thru of that thread, it appears most of the members are high-end PvE/Mythic raider types… with a rated arena/Glad player sprinkled in. Oh and, a green MVP (of course).
So far I’m not seeing anyone that plays epic BGs, my preferred form of casual PvP. Not really seeing any M+ focused players either, something else I like to dabble in on the side.

And pre-WoD you had every reason to spam Heroic Dungeons all day for currency. World Content has essentially replaced that style of endgame grind for casual players.
Again, the entire reason the council exists is so that Blizzard can communicate and get feedback from the players.
There are simply too many voices demanding attention across the entire forum. That’s just the simple reality of the situation. Even one of the CC members who posted in this thread has realized just how difficult it is to keep track of multiple threads and keep responding to them. It’s an absolute nightmare.

These forums are the same 30-40 people and their alts circle jerking each other, and who’s vocabulary comes from whatever youtuber/streamer they fawn over, why you’re expecting the council to be any different is beyond me.

Who only helps in the tech support and customer service forums…don’t know why you think her mvp status is relevant
Disclaimer: I would not participate in the counsel even if I were to be paid for it.
That being said, I think it is painfully clear this is an attempt on two things:
- First, legitimize what would be done regardless of the counsel even existing
- Second, dangle to some the elevation of others in order to create a fake sense of accomplishment by those
Nothing different than what this things ALWAYS are.

Lets take a look at what some of the people in the Community Council said about 9.1.5
9.1.5 has brought more people back because we can finally play alts again. Also playing the other 3 covenants can change a lot of game play along with giving people cosmetics to chase.
Mage tower is hard and its sweet. Probably the highlight of 9.1.5 for sure but its weird that its not available all the time.
“It’s great! We can play alts again and the old time-gated timewalking content is bringing people back!”
Overall I think that 9.1.5 has been a great .5 patch that’s breathed new life into the current patch cycle, and I think its introduction was done at an appropriate time.
“9.1.5, the patch that removed a bunch of content was a great patch! It’s breathed new life into the game”
These are the two that stuck out to me when I didn’t really dive deep into the forums over there to get into the nitty gritty. I’m not optimistic about it working. You know why? It’s an echo-chamber. People aren’t talking about how bad the systems in Shadowlands are. Literally someone said they want more things to buy with their Anima.
They may still be picking people but really it feels like this is a way for Blizzard to pat themselves on the back. It’s gonna start looking like the Obama meme where he awards himself with a medal.

Cherry picking points to fit your narrative. Why am I not surprised.

Question is what players? Is there really any real diversity , will the solo person that just likes open world will they be represented or the person that just likes to pet battle ?
Will the LfR hero get represented ? Will people that don’t 100% agree with everything BLizz does get represented ?
I have no problem it high end content players or even streamers are represented but I want to know if the rest of us will actually be represented .

That depends on what you consider valuable input. I’m sure people who love lore would consider those who are lore buffs to have valuable input, those who love pet battles would probably want people on the committee who enjoy that aspect of the game. This game has many different aspects to it many which someone who focuses on high level content do not participate in.
But perhaps I’m wrong and the 99% of the people who sub to this game have a M+ 2k+ rating.

Am I saying anything wrong by quoting? I’m not saying it out of context. I’m not bending the way it was worded. I’m literally posting what was posted over there in quotations. I’m using proof to back up my argument to help fuel the discussion.

Until I see someone on the council slamming Blizzard, then it is nothing but an echo chamber.

You took that entire person’s points out of context by only focusing on their first paragraph.
In that same post they mentioned:
Recently my guild has recruited either new players, returning players, or people who are looking to switch over their mains to a new class. There is a consistent frustration when it comes to having to unlock the legendary creation quest line, getting the legendary, and subsequently crafting it.
Getting the legendary presents its own set of problems
While they were able to receive the benefit of this, I would imagine many other players cannot.
Torghast, while enjoyable for me, does feel like a drawn out process at this point.
The last thing I believe I’ve personally experienced frustration with is loot.
You’re being straight up dishonest about that person’s intentions.
