So far i don’t see post about the future and past of this game for example, i saw that you mentioned to change covenant on arenas, however the community council should take on consideration that 9.2 is already being worked and they’ve to finish it while working on some fixes, its really good to ask about SL systems and possible changes…
However, i would prefer someone asking about the following topics and thinking about the future.
Did you consider that adding power attached to RNG is a good path? This was an issue with corruptions on 8.3, “fixed” by adding those to a vendor that was also part of a rng rotation, same mistake happened with Domination Shards, also conduits…etc
Did you consider that legendaries on Shadowlands was a good approach since you created a lot of “toys” efects but if you check your data base, you’ll find that some legendaries are being used by less that 1%, How do you approach meta gaming? Same for talents, there’s % for each talent by row and there’s talents that are almost not used at all. If they can´t provide a scenario on which talents are being changed constantly or provide different playstiles why they continue creating other systems, focus on the main system that’s not borrowed.
Can you guys do a statement of your concept of alt? because my concept is … and describe that, there’s a lot of things that should have a skip but we’ve to do the same thing again.
FOMO in the game, a good post about that should be there, just look at mage tower is a big thing, its difficult , however, we only have 2 weeks this time and then 4-5 month without it, its a good challenging content that should be up all the time, how the devs consider the playerbase around FOMO topics? The playerbase is everyday more old, Work, Family, vacations…etc there’s a lot of things that impact a player time and is bad to have a lot of FOMO in the game.
RNG for collectors, the Anniversary World Boss drop was changed because the RNG was awful and this don´t incentivice the game against competitors on which there’s bad luck mechanics, even if the drops remain 1% less, they should mention why the rewards systems are desinged like that, just look at mounts like MoP worl bosses, Love rocket, headless on wowhead comments, there’s a lot of people farming those for years and with an alt army meta.
Narrative Design, Can the players provide feedback? Or are we destined to wait for the story provided by them, Why we don´t have the more important parts of books like scenarios or questlines in game?
New achievements for collectors, since 2018 Blizzard doesn´t add a new mount achievement.
The prestige honor system requires a lot of honor compared to the gains from bgs and arenas, onle 2% of the player base have 500 honor, Can they create new pvp world quest or more events around bgs that provides honor?
To me the only potential issue is if the CC is stacked with only raiders/m+/pvpers, but Mirasol isn’t any of that, and Wochidin seems pretty chill and mentioned he has a discord to help people who can’t find pugs. There are also people who mentioned they RP etc…
Thing is that if you’re going to think everyone who is part of the CC is part of some collective evil group, then you’re kinda villainizing an entire group without actually taking the time to read their posts and get a sense of who they are.
I won’t deny that there might be people who use that platform in a less than ideal way, but discrediting every single one of them is a stretch.
THere needs to be a forum or a dedicated thread so that others can communicate with the council so that the rest of our voices can be heard.
How are they going to voice the concerns or the likes of the players if it is just a members only club .
I have no problem them selecting a group of people to represent us as players but if we are not heard are we really represented ?
Unless there is a way for the player members of the council to interact with us ,I don’t see much change actually happening and imo this will all just be smoke and mirrors.
The worst part is people are already dismissing it based on who has posted, but so far only like 20ish people are in. They are still processing invites and the baseline will be around 100 people at any one time. There is still a lot of room for even more diverse opinions on the council, but people just jump to conclusions immediately.
Im literally trying to read imput from like 9 different posts and commenting feels super weird. I always thought why dont they just respond to everyone! but I totally get it now
So basically, a council of members who promote the devs’ interests and niches, with the occasional extra fluff to give the impression of “diversity” and pretend they share some common interests with the average player.
The entire reason the council exists is because there are too many voices otherwise. This was something Blizzard literally said in the announcement video for the council.
The 100 people that have been selected (most of whom have not gotten their invites yet, Blizzard did say the invites would be rolling out over several days) can provide the feedback Blizzard needs without there being a mob of voices pushing and pulling the developers in multiple directions.
That said, the members of the council aren’t permanent. You get 1 year on the council, then Blizzard pulls fresh faces in for the 2nd year to ensure it’s not just the same 100 people shaping the game the way they want it to be.
Just read at your own rythm, don’t reply to each person and check against your own experiece and create some post on that community on your own pace. thanks and sorry that you’re not anonymous
I know those of us not on the council can’t comment in that forum but maybe council members can come her in to GD and talk about the stuff and see what the rest of us think and pass it to the devs .
We have as much of a vested interest in this game as they or the people invited to the council do . As long as we don’t have an actual voice , people are going to think it is all just an echo chamber.
THere still needs to be communication with the rest of us .
As long as the rest of us our kept out of the loop people are going to go the council is just an echo chamber .
Since we know Blizz isn’t really going to communicate with us themselves then the council should be the go between telling us what Blizzis planning and telling Blizz what we are thinking .
OP, I read through the posts there and you’re 100% correct. But part of the issue is the questions that the mod. is asking. Take it with a grain of salt. It might improve, or it might not.
What does that have to do with the fact that so far, the vast majority of the people who have posted in their forum have a M+ rating of 2k or more? I really don’t know that they speak for the casual player who has done a +2 or the guy that they pass up in the group finder because his score is below 1k.
The people that refuse to do group content are in the minority, by far…and they directly contradict the direction of an MMO. You’re just not going to get much representation.
That’s my concern as well. Of course it’s still early and more people will be added but… “the majority of players enjoyed 9.1.5”?? I mean, come on
Last time I checked, most of the players that unsubbed due to 9.1 are still unsubbed or taking a break. The bleeding did not just magically stop with 9.1.5
Again, it’s still very early so we’ll just have to wait and see how that forum plays out.
Ideally the white-knights/streamers and “yes men” posters will be kept to a minimum and there will be at least a few posters actually asking the hard questions/pointing out what’s wrong with the game.
