Community Council won't change ANYTHING

I’ve been monitoring the Community Council forum and it won’t change anything. All it seems to be is “qualified players” who give feedback into their echo chamber. It’s players who enjoy the game in the current state that don’t clearly speak for the masses. We’re led to believe that the majority of players enjoyed 9.1.5? Saying it had so much content? Seriously? So much stuff was removed from the game in that patch and the only things that were added were cosmetic.

The Community Council is literally so the devs can keep being told to do the terrible things they’re doing because “tHe CoMmUnItY cOuNcIl DeMaNdS iT”… I’ll keep an eye out but this is it boys. Play the violins and let’s wait for the ship to sink.

im afraid of it being an echo chamber. ION 2.0.

They will put like minded players and streamers on it who would never risk their position by being honest about the state of the game.

The community council forum has been active for one day OP and you’re already claiming it won’t do anything? Really?

Bugger off.

Your type of mentality helps no one. If everyone thought like you, and denounced and said that changes would never work without even giving them time to function, we’d still be in the damn stone age.

Maybe. Maybe not. It’s too early to tell though I can’t blame anyone for looking at this new program with a lot of doubts given how the past has worked out. All we can do is wait and see if communication improves.

Okay, sure, can’t blame folks for being cynical, but the program can be at least given some time right? I think we can all (except for the OP) agree that the Community Council needs time to see if it works, rather than just straight up denouncing it as a failure the very same day the forum goes live.

Wasnt that the design ?

Think of this community counsel as something done to “isolate” from public intervention.

And you can check the activity from those refuting it, and you will always find the reason as to why they do it, and wont be “the good of the community”.

If it was something for the “good of the community”, it would not be “another reserved setting”, they would just come here and actually communicate with people.

Community Counsel is the following statement: “We will choose the anointed among you, because talk to all of you is beneath us”.

Correct. Like I said, I don’t blame the community for having their doubts but I personally am looking at it with hope for a better game and a better relationship between players and developers.

How much time? Given the development cycle, it is unlikely that even if they are highly productive they could have any influence before 11.0.

They have used a similar format before, so probably they are comfortable with it. Of course, it didn’t really work well in the past, but surely if they do things the same we will see different results this time.

I told you.

Check activity, and you will see the people “in defense of the counsel” are only “in defense of themselves”. So to speak, or not “so so to speak actually”.

Ehhh, I think they’re doing ok so far. Most forum posts devolve into “give me something for nothing”. These guys are at least reasonable.

Just looked at the council members. They’re all mostly M+/raiders / hardcore/ AOTC with one or two Classic players.

Definitely representative of the average player.

LOL. Just as I expected.

what about pvp people

A raider can talk about raiding and open world content…

A player that does not participate in end game can only talk about open world content…

Why would they want a lot of people with such a limited perspective?

I wish to suggest: The Below Link page would be

other words; The Realm Select Screen and each one of the layers.
just like the page…

That’s all carry on…

Beware The Living

You’re on the council…

I sure as hell don’t remember voting you on it.

It basically just started - its no surprise that the casual playerbase hasnt commented in their forums.

Lets give it a few weeks before we condemn it.

Meanwhile while they waste time with pointless debates Endwalker is stealing the show.

These devs have already shown that they’re happy just to run things their way, this forming of a council doesn’t change anything unless their opinion actually has a profound impact on the development process and devs come out and admit they’ve done a rubbish job by conceding that council actually has a point.

The vast majority of the player base has done at least one key.
