Community Council Members - Read

Which is not true by the way. There is already an official Discord ran by Blizz that only houses Council members and a couple Blizz staff. Mine is a totally unrelated, open Discord where people can participate in the discussion without the limitations of the WoW forum.

If Blizz proofread my posts I’d be banned already. I haven’t been kind to them, but I gave my honest feedback.

Meanwhile I didn’t get an invite, despite writing guides, hosting giveaways and never getting banned on the forums or in game.

Sounds about right some Streamer spammer gets in instead of me.

That is exactly what this Community Council is from Blizzard’s side.
Instead of having to deal with real players, they choose those which align to their objectives and will want that which they want when it comes to disputes between the average player and the “invested player”.

That is the problem, the tool is for a specific use. And it is not what people are wanting or thinking it is.

Very specific key points in wording and approach in the very thing you cited show that this is the case. People are mostly oblivious to things which are vastly different:

  • Passivity of the object
  • Activity of the subject

Eg.: The forest was burnt by Sylvanas or Sylvanas burned the forest.

In essence, one might say it is the same information. In actuality, one allows for multiple approaches, and one is a specific account of facts.

I think most of the gripes tied to power progression are pretty thoroughly echoed to some degree in every corner of the playerbase. Activities being chores as a ticket to ride content you enjoy is why we end up with accusations that the game doesn’t respect our time.

I’m hoping there is a story/lore member willing to be equally harsh (but fair).

Fair enough and we will see what happens. I do hope everything works out for the better.

I can’t help but think this is a scummy idea of theirs to use the community to pass blame if their next adventure/project fails.

I truly wish you all the best on this Counsel.

Trust me, there is. From what I’ve seen the guy, they’re totally passionate about RP and lore. I’m not allowed to name names on the forums IIRC (although my 2:45am EU brain might not be working properly), but I know they’re prepping a big one.

Threads in the forum right now disprove the yes-man accusation utterly.

I don’t think it was the best idea to advertise his twitch, but he’s only got a couple hundred followers, and I doubt his stream ever gets more than a couple dozen concurrent views. I don’t think that’s the same as your typical big streamer-content-creator who usually has tens or hundreds of thousands. To be entirely honest, I don’t recognize a single name on this council other than the other Classic person- and that’s because I just so happened to draw his character for him, funnily enough. I’m kinda glad there is no/minimal big streamer presence on the CC.

None of them do.

Criticism is a funny thing. You can criticize as a yes man.
But as I said, most people cant see the difference.
Otherwise, the World would be a very different place.

You for example is acting like a critic yes man.
And therefore, I ignore you now.

Thank you Nas, I really do hope things work out. I’m going to try my best to make an impact until it’s proven that I can’t; to do otherwise would be giving up. I’m curious where this CC road will take me…and all of us.

Everyone Who Disagrees With Me is a Blizzard Lapdog: a Story in Three Farts.

Yeah, they aren’t doing that. The first couple of people to introduce themselves are very obviously self-serving and have no intention of relaying anything the community might actually want.

There’s one very vocal person that absolutely rubs me the wrong way, is EXTREMELY smug, and thinks themselves better than everyone else because they are on this council. It’s pretty disgusting.

You’re welcome.

If it’s not too much to ask, can you tell them to emphasize on the story a little bit better than what they did in Shadowlands.

I’m a story person and I just want a good consistent story that follows established lore. I’m fine if they change things but make it, make sense and not having you scratch your head.

I’m a detailed person and one of the things I enjoy about RPGs and reading a book is learning about the cultures, gods, history and so on.

That is my biggest gripe about the game.

Anyways take care :grinning: :+1:

Uhm… :flushed: :point_right: :point_left:

There’s a big lore buff currently in the works with a post from the last I heard! I’m absolutely chiming in on it, or making my own if that post never comes to fruit. I’m the same way; in order for me to truly feel immersed and enjoy a game with any hint of worldbuilding, it’s gotta be good.

Here’s a different forum post of mine re: SL story;

I wish you nothing but the best out there- if there’s anything else in particular you (or anyone else) want me to bring up just give me a holler and I’d love to give it my best shot. :muscle:

Woah. This is the first I’m hearing about this. I gotta ask, why is there a private discord? I thought the premise for this experiment by Blizz was to be more open and honest than the previous private forum. So you’re telling me that there’s this Blizz discord for you guys that we aren’t privy to?

Say Hi to the new boss, same as the old boss. Lmao.

It’s nothing more than a place where the Council members can chat without the world staring at them. If we wanna talk about doggos, we will, if we have questions to ask from Blizz Staff, we can. It’s not a super-secret team of hand-picked individuals providing feedback. Just a chatroom. That’s all.

I’m definitely not a Blizz employee [wait, that sounds like what a Blizz employee would say…] but as far as response time, I’m doing my best to stay as engaged as possible. I’m searching ‘council’ and other hot button words so I can see as much as others want me to see/that I should see, because otherwise most topics just get lost in the dredges of the GD swamp.
