Youâll be at a disadvantage no matter what. Without the addon people will just use other methods if they have better results. Like the group me function in discord. Itâs just like dbm or healbot. Mods are part of the game and you canât stop people just because you donât want to use one and it will put you at a disadvantage. Especially when you can just get the mod for free.
No, the closest thing I have to Blizzard saying anything about this is on that âfakeâ video. And to me, it sounds like this is exactly the type of add-on they want to prevent
Itâs not as difficult as youâre trying to make it out to be.
All it has to do is look to see if the message contains certain keywords, such as the ones I listed above. It might miss more creative advertisements, but those are not at all commonplace. The vast majority of people use âLFG/LFM <# people> <instance name> <role(s) needed>.â If you donât, the addon may miss yours, but thatâs not unique to the addon. If you use a different format from what regular people do, youâre risking people not paying attention to your message anyway.
âModern addons create networks inside the game. We are suspicious and skeptical of these addons reproducing functionality of the game that weâve purposely removed from classic that could be harmful to the experience.â
How can you read that and not automatically compare this addon to LFD tools.
Yeah yeah it doesnât automatically send you to the dungeon but its a slippery slope.
